If you've never really tried ceramics, this will probably be very hard. I would start out with something easier, at least until you became familiar with clay and how to use it. Detail work can be very difficult when you're first starting, and I imagine a resin anime figure would require a fair amount of detail. Also, in beginning ceramics classes, the instructor tends to choose the actual project (coil pot, slab pot, painting relief, etc.) so I'm not sure how much freedom you'll have when it comes to project selection. From a technical standpoint though, the figure is do-able. You could always sculpt the figure on your own. Try polymer clay, it's easy to use and you don't have to worry about it drying out.
