Q:i have the carpet and the padding now i just need to know what tool i need to rent to install it?
It depends on how big the area is, If it's a small area you need a knee kicker, carpet knife, stair tool (to tuck the carpet) If it's a big area you need carpet stretcher, knee kicker, carpet seam iron, seam roller, carpet tape, stair tool, carpet knife.....Where I live ALL FREE for three days. Berkeley Tool Lending Library......... Good Luck.............
Q:How can I wash the ink off the carpet?
Drops of ink on the carpet, can be wiped with citric acid, wipe the place to wash with water, and then use dry towels to wipe moisture.
Q:I recently lost a large wall rug in my house due to a fire. The only information I have for it is the following: My grandmother purchased it from a traveling salesman in Canada sometime between 1967-1971. The dimensions of the rug are approx. 6ft long by 3-4 ft tall. It has a picture of polar bears on icebergs. The edging was red yarn-like fringes.I think that this rug is worth something but I can't find anything like it. I need to put a value on it for insurance purposes so I want to find out its true value and need documentation to prove that that rug, or one close to it, is worth a certain amount of money. My other grandmother had a similarly sized rug, possibly sold by the same guy, but it had a bullfighter and bull on it. Any help on this matter is greatly appreciated.
I'm not incredibly familiar with rugs, but I can try to give some help. After searching around a little bit, it seems that most of the rugs fitting this description are between $200-400, but rugs also run much higher in price. If it is a hand-made rug of that size made by a fine rug-maker, you could be talking $1000 dollars or more. I can't say too much more, since I'm in no way qualified to appraise a rug, since I don't know enough about them, but I included some links in the sources that might help you price your rug. Hope this helps. Good luck!
Q:For the past 6 months or so, my cat has been peeing and pooping on my throw rug (which, just so you know, was an expensive rug from Crate Barrel which I love). My rug is stained from cat pee, and I just had it cleaned deodorized this past weekend in the hopes that she would stop using it as a litter box. I used to think that she did it out of spite, but I can't figure out why she'd be mad at me or my live-in boyfriend (who she belongs to, but we've been living together for about a year and dating for a year and a half, so she knows me well and is very loving towards me). I don't know how to get her to stop using my rug as a toilet. Any suggestions? And, putting her to sleep is not a suggestion. We love her. But, if she doesn't stop pooping and peeing on my rug I don't know what II'll do!
i saw this on a show, where a cat kept messing on a bathroom mat. not sure it'll work for you but the vet guy recommended moving the litter tray to where the cat does it, and leave the throw rug next to it, maybe hanging off the couch or whatever, so he can't mess on it but it's next to the litter tray. slowly move the tray and rug back towards where you keep your litter tray, or outside, whatever, just a bit a day. use praise and treats when he/she uses the tray and not the rug. eventually the cat should start to use the tray and not your rug. I can be an insecurity thing I think, it happened to the cat on the show when the owner went into hospital and it was left with the husband.
Q:I just looked at a fantastic apartment...but it has this horrible brown shag rug in the main room! It just looks way too retro and reminds me of my grandparent's basement rec. room. The landlord said the apartment could be painted (it would have to be painted back when we left) and right now the walls are all white. What can I do to bring this room into 2007? I was thinking of a nice brown accent wall, or even painting the window trim....any ideas are welcomed!
Shag rugs are back! Believe it or not, silly people all over the world think they are way cool again. Bamboo blinds with a brown accent wall and window trims sound great. Couple that with a warm wheat color on the other walls and modern mixed with photographic art on the walls and you're in business. Just remember that if your furniture isn't really modern or simple the theme will crash. This will not be a room for Victorian or mahogany furniture. Think clean lines and simple strong colors. Good luck!
Q:How to deal if shampoo is poured on the carpeton the back of the carpet how to deal with! ! !
Using the hair dryer can dry
Q:What color of the carpet looks good to match with white tiles?
Which is white grey, with a small amount of impurity spots, or black and white color
Q:Ok so my toilet over flowed over night, which caused some water to go onto my living room rug(Clean Water). Its not too bad but bad enough that it needs to be cleaned. It dried up but now it seems to have white patch's on the rug? I really hope its not mold... but I just want to know does anyone know how I can clean this? Any special cleaning products??? Thank so Much.
If this rug is a machine-washable rug, just wash it in your machine. Then dry it in your dryer, but don't over-dry it. If the rug isn't machine-washable, take the rug to a Dry Cleaner. They should be able to clean it for you. Now if were talking about wall-to-wall carpeting, your best bet is to have the carpet professionally cleaned. Professionals not only can clean the carpet, they can add special deodorizers so that mold doesn't end up growing in the carpet. Cleaning just one room should cost that much. You'll be glad you used a professional for this job. Check your Yellow Pages under Carpet Cleaners. -
Q:Okay, a its getting colder ive started rugging my horse again, but theres one slight problem. He' terrified of them. It never happened before, but for the past couple of weeks the only way i can get a rug off him is by undoing the straps and letting him spook while holding onto the rug, and then putting it on i have to have very skilled aim and try to get it on while he is running in circles. This isnt happening because this is his first year of having a rug, he has had them for all 14 years of his life, its just ridiculous, and its not like the rug is different in any way at all. Its not my method of putting on/taking off the rug either, no one at my stable can do it without him spooking. Just wondering though, is there anyway i can desensitise him to this? Or find a better way to get the rugs on and off?
allow the horse to sniff the rug and you should try hanging it in the stall to get him use to it. this doesn't work try having someone pet him and keep his head turned to distract him while putting on and removing it
Q:Is it harmful to people to use carpets for a long time?
In addition, chemical fiber carpets contain large amounts of formaldehyde, which can cause thickening of the respiratory mucosa and even induce bronchitis, dizziness, headache, nausea and vomiting. The status quo of China's open house, the atmosphere, soil, dust pollution is serious, how to enter the room, carpet stains easily. If the southern Meiyu climate, it is more likely to produce dust mites and other microbial allergens. Therefore, carpets should not be laid indoors, and a comprehensive method of cleaning and ventilation should be adopted to eliminate the health risks of allergens.
