Q: What do you do to keep your floors clean? Both for carpets and hardwood floors.
By taking off your shoes at the door, and making sure you go through the house every day with the vacum, to make sure the dirt is picked up, because that is the culprit. And for dusting find a fuzzy pair of booties to use for dusting the floor works great clean as you walk.
Q: Online seeking, in the end ok online
If it is geothermal, it is best to be more than 10mm, because it can not be considered on the heat fast, you have to consider the stability of geothermal choice of multi-layer solid wood flooring, stable and heat storage, you can go to the Filinger home to see them 90 Anniversary activities, my brother just two days ago in his family set
Q: I am in the process of redecorating my room and am interested in placing a large decal on my wooden floors. The only issue is that I cannot find anywhere where they sell floor decals/stickers online or in store so I was wondering if I would be able to use a wall decal on the wooden floor and if it would be able to last over the years and not ruin the floors. thank you in advance!!
Blik okorder / But as mentioned by Brittany, you can basically contact any wall decal store and just ask if they have a vinyl available that has a stronger adhesive that wont ruin your floor. You can check with the following stores:
Q: Can I just use a black pad on my buffer to remove old crappy wax on floors, or do you HAVE to use a stripping solution...in other words, can you use the black pad on a dry floor?? Thanks!
use the stripping chemical. It breaks down the wax. put the solution down and let it work and use your black pad. make sure you rinse the floor very well.
Q: Does anyone have any experience with cork flooring? PLease give details.
I love cork flooring! My grandfather installed cork in one of the rooms in his house in 1953 and it still looks great today. Here are the PROS of cork flooring: 1. Cork is eco-friendly, moisture resistant and naturally hypoallergenic 2. It's natural honeycomb structure provides a natural cushion so it's great for those who have joint problems or have trouble standing on hard surfaces 3. Cork is available in planks, tiles and mosaic tiles with several varying textures and colors leaving endless pattern and design opportunities. 4. Cork flooring can be done as a DIY installation project 5. Cork flooring can last many many years 6. Can be installed over radiant heat system (if approved by manufacturer) 7. Cork is a natural noise insulator (why it's used often as an underlayment) 8. Safe flooring for small children 8. Easy to clean and care for Here are the CONS of cork flooring: 1. It may not withstand heavy foot traffic 2. Heavy furniture may cause indentation marks (use felt protectors) 3. May require refinishing every few years (some cork finishes do not require this) I'd say there are more pros than cons with cork flooring. Cork is gaining more and more popularity due to its green properties as well as the fact is now available in more colors and styles. I say go for it! It's lasted almost 60 years in my grandfather's house!
Q: Is it possible to lay the slot together fake wooden floor that you can buy in packs over carpet? Were in military housing so we can't change the carpets but would love some of that flooring in my room. Thanks
ok my first thought to your question was no way! BUT, if you are desperate enough to have hardwood floors, you may be a able to do it like this: (since you can't pull the carpeting up) at lowes they sell this thin board for around $6 for a 4'X8' sheet (found on the same aisle as wall paneling). maybe if you lay this down over your carpet then lock in your laminate floor it may float above the carpet. i wouldn't suggest you leave much expansion room along the walls and you should attach a baseboard all they way around to help secure the laminate so maybe it won't pop up and come apart. i'm not saying it would work but if you have a small room like 10X12 or so to try it out in first, that way if it doesn't work out you may have only lost a couple hundred dollars. good luck to you....
Q: I just installed 450 sq ft. of laminate flooring. I did not level the floor properly and now Im finding a high point in the center of the room. Each time I walk around the high point, the floor drops a little. Is it possible to fix this without tearing up the floor. can I drill a hole and shoot some type of epoxy under the padding to prevent the floor from dropping when I step on it? Sounds crazy...but I want my floor to last. Boy did I screw up!
I'm afraid there's not much you can do except tear up the floor and re do it.
Q: -for a concert-i wanna be close to the stage, but ive heard that unless ur in the first few rows, u cant really see anything on the floor. how many rows back are they worth it? would it be better to just get level 1 seats? opinions?? thanks. im like 5&amp
I've been to a few concerts where they offered floor + seats, and I always had a seat. Which is fine, if you get a close spot. But then I've been to some that are floor only, and I honestly like that much more. You can see fine, unless someone really tall stands in front of you, on whic case you can just move over. It's a much better experience overall, and a lot more fun :)
Q: how do you take up linoleum on a wood floor with out damaging the wood
use a heat gun to soften the adhesive
Q: We are planning to build a double storey house with my wife of 6 years and we have been wondering as to how the floor of the upper level is made and supported. will greatly appreciate any help in understanding how it is made. Is it not expensive?
The outside walls are on top of the lower outside walls. Joists are usually attached to exterior walls by joist hangers, they are metal brackets that hold the joist & you nail them into the wall then into the joist you set in them. The floor is supported by interior walls you put the joists on top of, on the lower floor or supporting beams that can span a distance you need to span & made just like the floor on the lower level. You have to get local codes to see how far you can span the joists (boards you install sideways to support the floor because they are strong & inflexible that way). An upper floor is pretty cost effective square feet because you don't need a foundation. Usually a basement cost 1/2 the cost of the main main floor & an upper floor cost 75% of what a main floor does. That depends on how much you put on that floor as in bathrooms & other facilities & fixtures. Another kitchen up there would be a heavy expense, but most of the time you don't do that.
