Q:In an apartment, which floor would you prefer to live on outof 14 floor apartment ???
I even have been severe and espresso in residences and condos. The perspectives are continually nicer the better up you're yet then there are unfavourable aspects too. In a 26 floor condominium I lived on the twenty third floor and the construction in simple terms had 2 elevators. If somebody grew to become into moving in they could tie up one elevator and the watch for the different took an prolonged time. My next pass I lived on the 0.33 floor, it grew to become into plenty much less puzzling get right of entry to to the lobby, and if I had to stroll up or down 3 flights it grew to become into no concern. of direction we ignored the great view. I now stay on the 18th floor of a condominium, and it has 3 elevators. The perspectives are great, however the elevator project commonly sucks. i could choose for the condominium that provide you with the appropriate convenience.
Q:The kind of water used in the hospital is that it can be washed with water, and it is very thin and very light. The surface is made of stone.
Epoxy floor paint, it can be made as a whole, waterproof wear.
Q:My church recently had our concrete floors stained and then sealed with 2 coats of urethane..I have tried cleaning and buffing with a neutral PH floor cleaner which left a film on the floor. I have a couple questions since I am in charge of caring for the floor1. How do I keep the floor clean and shiney without leaving water marks or soap film on the floor?2.How do I buff and shine the floor?3.How do I remove the scratches and scuff marks from the floor?
A floor machine is the best answer to all of those issues. You see people in hospitals and stores use them. They basically have a spinning head that you can put a pad under so that the spinning motion will clean the floor. You can use regular mop water with these, and the pads come in varieties from soft, polishing pads to rough, Brillo-style pads for serious cleaning. If you don't want to invest in a floor machine, a mop and some stiff brushes are your best bet for cleaning, and an automotive buffer (with a polisher) for polishing. To save even more money, you could make an enzyme cleaner for practically nothing. These clean well and even give your floor a shine. I'll post a link to how to make these as my second source.
Q:I am writing a Halloween story and really want to know what year they stopped using the 13th floor.
The origin of skipping the thirteenth floor when installing elevators is not known. However during the advent of early skyscrapers, New York architectural critics warned developers not to exceed the height of the 13th floor. These critics insisted buildings rising above the 13th floor (125 feet) would lead to increased street congestion, ominous shadows and lower property values. Nevertheless, in a work published in 1939, sociologist Otto Neurath compared the use of money in an economy, which he saw as unnecessary, to the superstition of not installing the thirteenth floor: merely a social convention.
Q:who has good pricing for laminate wood flooring? How much and how much sq ft does it cover...thanks!
Laminate flooring can run you anywhere between 2.50 to 6.00 per square foot. Your underlayment will cost anywhere from .50 to 1.00 a square foot. Laminate flooring has come a long way, they have it down to where it almost can be passed as real hard wood floors but the upkeep is rather easy and scratches are hard to put in it. You will want to take the width times the lenght of the area you want covered to find your square footage. ie. 10x10 is 100 sf. Good luck and enjoy when you make your decision.
Q:I have an acid washed concrete floor in my business. I am having a problem with the floor being hazy/dirty after washing. The floor is waxed. When i clean the floor I use 2 buckets of water ... One with neutral floor cleaner and one clean water rinse bucket. After the floor dries it has a haze over it ... if i rub my fingers on the floor the haze goes away but my fingertips become black from the residue ... what can i do to get my floor back to clean ... i get so many compliments on the dirty floor and i cant imagine what they will say once it is really clean ... Any Help Would Be Appreciated ....Thank You
It's concerning that your floors have a black residue AFTER you clean them. It almst sounds like your wax is reacting with something or soil have become entrapped in the wax. Yuck. Personally, I would have them professionally cleaned and then ask for advice about ongoing cleaning techniques. I believe that you should use plain water to wash the floors most of the time. Use 2 different mop heads when you use floor cleaner---one for plain water and one for the cleaner. Use a no-rinse product for wood or laminate floors. Even that can create a haze if you use too much soap. Fill your mop bucket with hot water to wash and rinse. You may have to invest in a buffer with a felt wheel.
Q:When you replace carpet in a room because you want to install hardwood... do you need to replace the subflooring? Do you replace sub flooring every time you replace flooring?
Only if the subflooring is damaged or uneven or weak or warped. If it's flat and solid, just reuse it.
Q:My apartment’s bathroom floor is made of some kind of linoleum material that makes it look like a fake hardwood floor. If I use the usual 1 part bleach to 2 parts water on this type of flooring, will it damage the floor?Should I make sure to rinse it off with plenty of water once I do use it?Is there any other type of cleanser that you might recommend?Thank you all in advance!
No, it shouldn't damage the floor but the only time I would bother to use bleach on a floor is if there's some reason to disinfect it, say if the dog pooped on it and you have a crawling baby around. There isn't much reason to disinfect a floor since it's meant for walking on, not eating off of. Many people apparently don't realize that bleach isn't really a cleaner but a disinfectant and doesn't remove anything oily or greasy. On a floor you are far better to use a product meant to clean floors which will clean off a variety of things that can get on floors. And these days, I would highly recommend a microfibre mop or cloth which will probably clean very well with just water and without a special cleaner of any kind. If you really feel the need to disinfect around the toilet, bleach solution will be just fine.
Q:I have laminate flooring through out my apt. including my bathroom. Well, my toilet overflowed and I need to disinfect the floor. I do not own a steam mop. Is there a cleaner I can use that will disinfect and not harm the floor?
Get some laminate floor cleaner at a home improvement store. It usually contains alcohol. I like to apply it with a Rubbermaid Reveal mop. They sell them at Walmart and other places. You put your own cleaner in the reservoir and it has a pump handle to spray it on the floor (like a swiffer wet jet). Instead of disposable pads, it uses a washable microfiber pad.
