- A few places to start the bureau of labor statistics has information on moving trades. You will need certification although requirements vary. The National Commission for the certification of Crane operators lists different types of operators and requirements for certification. States have their own laws about certification and requirements you can check it out, in some states certification is not required yet. I've included a link to the laws for Minnesota. There are a number of companies it would probably help if you are currently working in Construction and for a company that might help pay for the training or learn on the job. I don't know what state your in but there are a number of companies that do training you can do a quick search with Crane operator training. One other resource is the local Division of DET Division of Employment and Training for your state they can help you research your options and vocational counseling. Good Luck

- Your baby crane might have stepped on something, But this is nothing like malnutrition, From what ive learned the crane may have a joint dysfunction in the knee but this very common in cranes, I really think you should take an X-ray of the cranes legs because,(and the baby cranes feet will expand over time) This could get worse. This is more than likely a leg dysfunction. Hope this helps.

- Build form the top, when they build these huge cranes, they build the top section, lift that up and build the next section underneath it, set it down to release the lift off the top section and lower it to the second section. Lift those 2 sections from the bottom, build the third section underneath it, and so on. You need to lift securely, like on all 4 sides for stability, and that leaves the corners free to build the next section.
- Q: It affects my day to day life, especially in the summer, having to cope with crane flies, wasps and moths getting into my house, so I usually just pretty much keep myself in my room, door closed, windows closed to prevent any from getting into my room. If I happen to be near any of these insects I tend to have a panic attack and can't handle it. I have no reason for my fear, I am just afraid of them for no reason. - There is a reason you fear these, you allow it. Moths and crane flies are totally harmlees, and really nothing more than a nuisance. Over time you develop a fear of them touching you, and eventually even being near them. Because you dwell on this instead of completely ignoring them, you literally brainwash yourself into fearing them. You need to change the way you think about these critters, preferably, not thinking about them at all. At times when they are a nuisance, just deal with them. I had a moth last night fluttering around my lamp, and it finally landed on the curtain. I grabbed it and tossed it out the door. no more moth. I like to sit on my porch at sunset, sometimes I'll watch a little barn spider come out from behind the lamp and spin her web. Often a pesty crane fly will want to buzz in my face,and I just shoo it away. If it gets persistent, I grab them and toss them into the spider web.No more crane fly. (I get those pretty little green lacewing flies too) It is really a matter of learning how to just ignore them, and deal with them when they are a pest. Sounds like you pretty much ignore spiders, try the same with the moths and crane flies.

- Crane flies are harmless. They don't bite or sting. You could just get a T-shirt and swing at it if it dares cross your path.

- LATTICE BOOM: See first link. This is where the boom (the portion used to support the load) is made like a lattice ... i.e. interconnected trusses and girders. The cables for lifting the load are run from the base of the boom to the load over pulleys/gears located at the boom's tip. The boom itself is NOT adjustable in length or in angle. HYDRAULIC BOOM: See second link. This crane uses hydraulics to adjust either the length of the boom, or the angle at which the boom joints intersect. It looks more like a single beam construction, although its probably closer to a tube type design (hydraulics may be inside or outside the arm). The load is raised/lowered by cables operating at the end of the boom ... not necessarily tied back to the bottom of the boom.

- Do one and time it, then multiply by 1000. Subtract some time because you will get faster from experience.
