- Q: Or what style? ?
- i aint trained in kungfu but i have studied it... im a karate practitioner and abit of a boxer. one day i was bored and looking up martial arts then i came across kungfu... it was very interesting looking it up. Theres over 300 styles of kungfu. some styles of kungfu represent a animal. For example... you got crane kungfu... if you know what a crane is, its a type of bird... strong on its legs, well balanced... goes with the flow, elegent. Crane kungfu practitioners have strong perfect balance... just like the crane. You got snake kungfu... just like a snake, it looks at there prey and attacks very accurutly... the speed of the snake bite is so fast, you might not even see it coming. So with snake kungfu practitioners... they are swift like a snake, smooth... Theres tiger kungfu... just like a tiger... vicious, focused... they attack there prey, strong... hard. Theres monkey kungfu... not sure about that one. but thats some styles i know... theres other styles like jeet kun do (the way of the intersepting fist)... drunken boxing ect... this is some of what i know... oh yh theres anouther style called the praying mantis... looks very good. so inconclusion... most of the animal styles of kungfu represent the animal in a certain way... which makes kungfu spark out for me. hoped this helped :)
- Q: science project
- hydraulic
- Q: for my homework : the question was explain how a skyscraper crane uses physics moments but no where can i find out the answer and dont want a detention ekkk x
- OK... So what has your homework actually asked you to explain? Can you post the question...? There are moment forces going through a crane, is the aim of the homework simply for you to explain what a moment force is using a specific example ? A crane can be thought of in simple terms as a cantilever, ie one supported end and one free end, the lever arm force as it is sometimes referred to in schools is actually the moment force i.e. the moment for a crane with a boom L=40m long lifting a load of P=10kN would beP*L = 10*40 = 400 kNm, this is ignoring the self weight of the boom, if the boom weighed W=1.5kN/m (thats per meter, not to be confused with kNm which is kilo newton meters) then the moment generated by the self weight would be (WL^2)/2 = (1.5*40^2)/2 = 1200kNm so the total moment would be 1600kNm, so just remember for a point load the moment is force * distance from support ( in cantilevers) hope this helps... :)
- Q: Is the working load of a crane the maximum weight it is able to lift?
- Usually there is a safety factor of 400% built into all engineered cranes. This is to account for unforeseen momentary spike loads, operator errors and component weaknesses ( (chipped tooth or poor forged parts or chains, etc) This is to take into account shock loads, for instance if you were picking up a bundle of steel bars and the load shifted and the bars dropped a foot or so the momentary load on the crane spikes. Working load is basically the load the crane is designed to run all day long at. If you run at the design load the crane is covered under the manufacturer's guarantee against defects and the maker is liable for problems or failures associated with the crane. But for example if the manufacturer can demonstrate you were picking up a 5 ton load on a regular basis with a crane rated at 3 tons, the manufacturer's liability is negated. Since you can counterweight any crane enough to theoretically lift anything, most of the cranes that have electric motors actually will stall if you lift much over the design weight. In other words in the above crane if you try to pick up 5 tons with a 3 ton crane, the motor will not have enough horsepower to pick up the weight and the motor will simply not lift it. The actual overload factor built into a crane is usually to contend with those shock loads and defective or weak components not seen.
- Q: I read the book and thought of a theory... I think that the headless horseman is just and alter ego Brom Bones alter ego and he wanted to kill Brom Bones for his beloved Katrina Van Tassel... I want to hear your opinions and theories possibly involving what you think Katrina said to Ichabod during the party. That would be nice thank you.
- For the best answers, search on this site Seeing as there are no other answers so far, I thought I'd write what I know :) I've never read the legend and the film may have a different ending, but in the film Ichabod returns to New York. x
- Q: im doing and essay and i need help on what motivated him to write this poem. im in 9th grade
- Well, the poem talks about war and its aftermath. and its horrors. Look into Stephen Crane's life. Was he affected by war? Did anyone in his family go to war? Did he go to war? Did he see the war. Maybe he was in the war and is talking to someone who felt the affects of it.
- Q: please help i need it for a project
- In the story no years are given, and in fact the end is left open ended. It seems to say that Ichabod Crane was still alive at the end: humiliated he had slipped out of town in the night. Though it does say the townsfolk spread rumors and stories told that he was carried off by the headless horseman. The fictional character of Ichabod Crane was based on the personality of a real person, Jesse Merwin, who died in 1852. (though thirty-two years after the story was published and not in any spooky way) The name, Ichabod Crane, also came from a real person, Colonel Ichabod Crane, who fought in the War of 1812 and died in 1857.
- Q: For anyone who has read/studied Stephen Crane - do you know of any connecting theme within his most famous short stories (the open boat, the blue hotel, the bride comes to yellow sky, the monster)?I was think naturalism b/c it is so prevalent in the open boat but is really the only short story naturalism is in
- sorry, i haven't read any Crane short stories, but i'm a HUGE fan of his poetry. it's some of the most bleak, raw, yet honest poetry i've ever read.
- Q: .......rated by the ________ weight it will lift at a ________ radius and ________ boom length.A. Maximum; minimum; maximumB. Minimum; maximum; maximumC. Maximum; minimum; minimum
- C. Maximum; minimum; minimum A Crane is rated by the MAXIMUM weight it will lift at a MINIMUM radius, usually 10 feet from the house pivot center, and the MINIMUM Boom Length. Wingman
- Q: What are the differences between the tower crane and the lift?
- Tower cranes are a common fixture at any major construction site. They're pretty hard to miss -- they often rise hundreds of feet into the air, and can reach out just as far. While, Lift is the force that directly opposes the weight of an airplane and holds the airplane in the air. So, first answerer is right they not something alike.
