- You are asking for a lot but I have seen you request this a number of times, so I will do it...a sucker born. 1. Valley fold the paper in half so it makes a triangle. With the long side held away from you, valley fold the triangle in half again. 2. Lift the top triangle and valley fold it so that its top point meets its bottom point. Unfold the crease you have just made. Put your fingers inside the top triangle, open it up, and flatten it so it forms a square. Turn the paper over and fold and flatten the remaining triangle in the same way. 3. Make sure that the open ends of the paper are pointing down. Valley fold the top layer of both sides in to meet the centre crease. You will now have a kite shape. 4. Valley fold the top point of the kite down and crease well. Unfold the crease you have just made. 5. Open the sides of the kite by unfolding the flaps you made in Step 3. Lift the top layer of the kite's bottom point up so the paper bends at the crease you made in Step 4. Push the outside edges of the paper in to meet the centre line. Then flatten the figure so that you have a long diamond shape. 6. Turn the figure over and fold a kite shape on the remaining side as in Step 3. Repeat Steps 4 and 5 on this side. You will now have a two-sided long diamond. The bottom half of the diamond is split in two. 7. Valley fold the top layer of both bottom edges in to meet in the middle. Turn the figure over and repeat on the other side. 8. To make the crane's neck and tail, valley fold each half of the bottom section out to the sides. Crease well. 9. Unfold the right crease you just made and make an inside reverse fold. Repeat this step on the left side. 10.To form the head, fold down the end of the neck. Unfold this crease and inside reverse fold the head. 11.Hold one of the crane's wings in each hand. Blow hard into the opening on the underside of the figure and gently separate your hands. You crane will puff up and be ready to hang.
- Q: Is there an effective utility for estimating the required size of a crane? I’m an estimator for a mechanical contractor, and it seems we never allow enough money for crane rental. How can I effectively adjust my estimates?
- well I'm not sure but need to over estimate for safety cause there are all ways mitigating forces @ play when using cranes be safe first dude you dint want to be sued for being cheap and if yo do good work word will get around
- Q: does anyone have a good slogan for the whooping crane?
- **** the whooping crane
- Q: I'm just curious about it, and i need it for a fan fiction story i'm writing. thanks ^__^
- Yes. It is genetically coded into japanese children before birth. As soon as they are born they know how to fold paper cranes. But it takes a couple of years for them to develop the hand coordination to actually do it.
- Q: I am in dyer need of a camera jib wih very little budget and/or tools to build one. I am wondering if i can use a cymbal stand for a crash cymbal as a camera jib? My idea is to modufy it by attatching a small piece of wood to the top screw where you would put a cymbal the screw in an L piece (metal) to it or attach it ti the arm of the stand and just snigly fit it so as the arm is raised and lowered the L pice compensates and stays strait. i would attach the camcorder to the L piece with a 1/4 inch screw and washers. i also need the arm to move smoothly will this work with a crash stand. all advice i am grateful for thanks

- Q: I just made origami cranes and want to hang them up, each by themselves with just a peice of string....how should i go about doing this? how is it usually done?
- TAke a needle threaded with a long piece of black thread, and make a small knot at end of long thread. Push the needle thru the middle of the crane's back and pull the thread all the way thru the hole till the knot catches. pull the needle off the loose end of the thread and make another knot on that end. take a push pin or thumb tack and push the pin thru the knot, then push the pin or tack into the ceiling. FYI, tape never works - I have tried. The black thread lets them flutter a bit, and is invisible most of the time. p.s. ask your parents if you can hang stuff from the ceiling first. they may not want you to do that since it will leave holes in the ceiling when you take them down.
- Q: Mother, whose heart hung humble as a button the bright splendid shroud of your son,Do not weep. War is kind. Please help thanks for reading
- This is a very critical and harsh poem. Stephen Crane seems to have a more pessimistic outlook on life than other poems he has written, and nowhere else does that pessimistic outlook come through in his poetry than here. The pattern of the poem affixes a cynical, satirical statement after every statement of War is kind. For example, War is kind, Hoarse booming drums of the regiment, little souls who thirst for fight, these men were born to drill and die. The unexplained glory flies above them. Especially when Crane says the unexplained glory flies above them, he is making a powerful statement by questioning whether all the death and destruction is really worth it. This questioning is very important, because many wars are not really for what they seem to be for. There are exceptions of course, perhaps World War II and the fight to end the holocaust, perhaps the Civil War and the fight to end slavery, but for the most part, wars are usually conflicts between cultures over natural resources and disagreements over cultural values. The glory of war, the patriotism, the nationalism; Crane is trying to state that all of these emotions we associate with most wars are really made up so that generally people will feel better about their actions in the long term. Crane questions whether or not war is ever really worth anything to anybody in this poem. Crane clearly does not think so, considering the level of sarcasm he uses throughout the poem, especially at the end when he powerfully states Mother whose heart hung humble as a button On the bright splendid shroud of your son, Do not weep. War is kind. This is very powerful, and Crane very clearly points out that the glory of war and honor of battle are not worth much to a parent whose son has died, or wife whose husband has died, or child whose father has died. Crane's questioning of warfare is very relevant in today's war when we are as a country in what many people would call a meaningless war.
