- It sounds like the keyboard you bought is for a com port hook up. The round hole is called a PS-2 connection. Most all keyboards and mouse are PS-2 but the serial port will also work. Look for the connection on your computer that matches your cord

The pc has a ctrl key and the mac has a command key. I was told they do the same thing, but Best Buy Geek squad tells me I need to get a mac keyboard with the command key to be able to cut and paste.Is that true?
- So, you have a Mac with a non-Mac keyboard and want to cut and paste, right? Basically, the ctrl key on your keyboard is the same as a control key on a Mac keyboard, and the Windows key (between ctrl and alt) on your keyboard is the same as a command key on a Mac keyboard. On a Mac keyboard, the command to copy is command+c. On your keyboard, you would use the Windows key+c. For cutting, it would be Windows key+x. For pasting, it would be Windows key+v. - Well, I just bought a Dell 1535 and It has a backlit keyboard and i can't get mine to work either. However, i DO KNOW how to set it up. First, the way to turn it on is to go to Start:Programs:Quickset and thats one way to set it up. You can also go to the control panal and choose Windows Mobility Center, click on: configure In the Display and Device tab, and you will see Keyboard Backlighting That's if you have that option, if it doesn't show up you don't have it. Mine says it does but I can't find out how to make it work. One more big tip, your supposed to use the Fn key and the right arrow key, to enable It. one tap is bright,one is dim and one is off I belive.
