- Q:LOL He barks, jumps, whines and bites at the vacuum while I am using it(and with a black GSD I do have to use it alot!!). Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get him used to this? When he was a puppy it did not bother him at all but as he got older, the minute it comes out of the closet he starts whining and barking at it. I have tried telling him NO as I vacuum and he will stop for a 1/2 a minute and watch it but it seems that as I am moving it back and forth across the rug he just can't help himself and he's on it again. I have tried distracting him with toys and cookies to no avail. Short of putting him outside (or in a closet JK) I don't know what to do. Anyone else who had this problem (or not) and may have some help?
- Banshee, I have 2 GSDs, and, both of them, (one is a Female, other a Male) both act silly when I have my vacuum going also. One will bark at it, and, jump around also. The other wants to hang around and watch it thus not moving out of the way......he even will paw at it, and, defy it. My (F) Rottweiler just moves, and, stays clear, so, I guess GSDs in our case see a Vacuum as some form of invader or something. I just deal with it. My female is almost 9 y/o now, and my male is almost 6 y/o. I don't even try to change their behavior. I guess I'm glad they don't go running away and whining. I'd rather see them rather macho unlike my cats whom head to cover when they see me plug it in.
- Q:Geddit?
- Hahahaha
- Q:rainbow D4SE
- Yes, any one selling vacuum cleaners door to door will take any old vacuum in trade. Remember though that these people work on high mark up and in turn high commission. Hold out on making a quick sale to get your best deal. Many people are ripped off by door to door sales people who are desperate to make a sale. A fair commission is ok, as every one is entitled to make a living.
- Q:Why don't they make gasoline powered vacuum cleaners?
- They make them for outdoor use.
- Q:Or did they convert to Vacuum Cleaners?
- I use a Hoover, as it makes me fly faster! Occasionally, I will use a Swiffer Sweeper.
- Q:works great built like an army tank will last literally forever
- Vacuum cleaners have nothing to do with CARS TRANSPORTATION, the section it is posted in. This site is not a SELLING/BUYING forum. It is for question and answers.
- Q:The batteries dont last. It goes up to 15 mins, max. Is there anyway i can upgrade the batteries? By the way its Electrolux Ergorapido
- when you decide to replace your current handheld vacuum buy a rechargeable Black and Decker. It charges while hanging on the wall and is always ready. Getting a rechargeable will save money in the long term since you will not have to bother with batteries.
- Q:What are the best vacuum cleaners on the market today? I've heard good things about the Dyson, how bout you?
- I've tried a Dyson before and it was awesome. I went online and started shopping for one when I found that people had many complaints about the Dyson. People have noted that the canister cracks easily and it is hard to replace. Then I started reading about the Bissell Healthy Home Vac and people were raving about it. I read more positive reviews about this vacuum than the Dyson. I bought one for $250 (plus tax) and it is amazing! I have two cats, one medium and one long haired. You would not believe how much hair it picks up each time I vacuum. I vacuumed my apartments popcorn ceiling because it catches the cat's hair and it was like I pulled 4 live cats of the the ceiliing. The hose is nice and long and there are a minimal amount of attachments. The best thing of all is that it is half the price of the Dyson. It also has a HEPA filtration system. It's fantastic and does just a good of a job as a Dyson, maybe better. If you search for Bissell Healthy Home you should find sites that sell it and there should be reviews about it as well. It's great and I love it.
- Q:vacuum cleaners?
- Not if you're a dust bunny. But if you were, you'd have bigger things to worry about then, wouldn't you?
- Q:It's 2014 and it doesn't really seem like vacuums have come that far. What's worse, they like everything else on the market are made for the dump. So whatever deal I happen to find on a seemingly decent vacuum is really going towards the next seemingly decent vacuum..... the vacuum I own is a perfect example! it ran me about 50 bucks but it's crap, and overall the cleanliness of my carpet, and air are the real cost of my savings...The only vacuum that I can say really proved itself in front of me was a Kirby, but there's no way in hell I could justify quot;to myselfdropping 1500 or more (depending how good the salesman was) on a vacuum cleaner....even ifit'll suck dirt through 12 inches of cotton...So to my question, what vacuum cleaner brand, model, etc. has the best suction and filtration but also won't break the bank??? Somewhere around $100-$200 maybe even $300 if need beAny info is appreciated, thanks in advance
- 1. Stay away from Dyson, they are high-priced disposables as you will see if you visit the nearest tip = there are always loads of them there. 2. Vacuum cleaners need a certain amount of maintenance which most folk can't be bothered to do so the cleaners fail. It takes me less than an hour once a month to clean out stuff such as long hairs from the rotating bush mechanism and apply a spot of light oil here and there. 3. They are made to suck up dust and small items of debris such as grit particles and small leaves. Avoid trying to suck up large and claggy items such as cat or dog poop, chewing gum and thongs which will definitely wreck the cleaner. 4. Oh yes and what is the make of my now four year old lightweight cleaner? It's a VAX which cost me around $130.
