Q:I don't know whether to use concrete or cement. It is for a waterfall so it will be constantly subject to moving water, which do you think will be best concrete or cement I'm not sure how long it will last with the winter years and freeze-thaw etc...So basically is cement waterproof enough and will last after constant water going on it?: cement is the chemical in concrete above is some stuff to read about it they have been using concrete for centuries for fountains

Q:how to install cement board for tile floor?: i would recommend removing the old tile first, the reson is that if you install the cement board on top its not really going to grab that well, and when you put in new tiles you are going to have a high floor.intall the cement boards on floor overlapping each board,and before you put it on use a flex bond to adhere cement boards to floor than use screws to hold down cement boards,also make sure that your floor is level,than measure the center of floor and start tiling from there.

Q:how many cubic feet can i get out of 1 80lb bag of cement using sand and gravel???: The actual cement required for concrete is affected by the choice of the maximum coarse aggregate size. As the maximum coarse aggregate size is decreased the cement content must increase to provide the required quantity of cement paste to coat all of the aggregate particles. Assume that the proportions will be made based on one part being a cubic foot (this is convenient since a 94 lb. bag of cement is 1 cubic foot of bulk material). For a 3/4 maximum coarse aggregate, the mixture would be 1 part portland cement, 2 1/2 parts sand, 2 1/2 parts coarse aggregate, and 1/2 part water. The sum of the parts is 6 ?. In general the final volume of concrete produced will be approximately 2/3 of the sum of all the volumes included in the mixture. Therefore the approximate volume of this concrete mixture is 4.3 cubic feet. If you adjust the above mixture based on a 80 lb. bag of cement, then you will produce 3.7 cu. ft. per bag approximately.

Q:what are the types of cement availabale and give their applications?: We have now wooden floors in our place of work, it is difficult to revive the shine to a stupid surface one way or the other with a long time then, i might alternatively go for carpeted or marble ,carpeted make me suppose comfy and marble add magnificence to the space,moreover, marble is handy to wash to some extent.

Q:So I am doing a little project outside. I need to connect a pvc pipe to a rubber hose. water will be flowing between these two. I am going to use some sort of sealent along with a clamp thingy but wondering what type of sealent should i use. Is there a particular one should i use?: Nobody has quite answered the question though... I m looking for a similar sealant for another application. Can anyone recommend a brand or specific adhesive for a PVC to rubber connection? In my case I want to glue a tire air valve into a drilled hole in a PVC pipe.

Q:What is better brick patio or cement patio(ie cleaning it,cost)?: Cement cracks,bricks do not.I have seen far too many embossed cement patios crack in the last five years.

Q:What is difference Between Cement Paste And Mortar?: additives like latex to make it flexible.

Q:In the experiment of analysis of cement in labs, cement contains more chemical elements. now I like to estimate the amount of silica in cement. how?: well the answer is very simple........... you know i suppose that NaOH reacts with silica to give sodium silicate? and sodium silicate is basic in nature/....... so just take a sample of cement make a solution of it.... or maybe a suspension , weigh it and start adding NaOH until the indicator (phenolphthalein) changes colour..... the reaction is...... NaOH+SiO2---------->NaSiO3+H2O just balance the reaction and there you have your answer...........

Q:I have an adjustable basketball hoop with a base that you fill with sand. I would like to cement this in the ground instead. Does anyone know if you can buy post extensions for installing it in the ground?: you need a post bigger then the hoop post.cement that in then slide the hoop over that.might need some bolts and spacers to make it center if its not an exact fit
