- Q: How to remove the oil from the carpet is the best?
- When the carpet is stained with liquid, you should quickly use a towel or paper towel to clean the surface of the stain, and then soak the surface with warm water, and then repeatedly towel dry water until there is no stain so far. If you encounter stubborn stains, you should add softener in warm water, so that stained surface soaked in water for 5-15 minutes, and then rinse with water can be repeated.
- Q: What's the difference between an area rug and an oriental rug?
- an area rug is just that: ANY rug that is not laid down carpet, generally a rug that sits on top of another surface, often woods which shows around the edges. An oriental carpet is a very specific type of design. I would look at pictures as that is easier than trying to describe it. It is a type of area rug.
- Q: we moved into a new house...the carpet is really very very messy..my apartment guys refused to change the carpet....looks like it has not been cleaned for months...they are number of stains on the carpet(very old ones).....i have new bisell carpet cleaner...but it is of no use.....i hate to see my carpet like this...is it possible to make it look like a new one....plzzzzz help
- there are two ways to go as i see it- either hire someone to clean your carpets- one of those companies that has a van/truck mounted system can do a good job- if they will take the time to DO a good job- not just a quickie. you can pre-soak some of the stains with a low-sudzing, preferably enzyme based soulution like a laundry pre soak sprayed or poured on before they get there. bleach is not a good idea. they will move furniture for you. The other way, less costly, but good exercise, is to rent one of those machines at the grocery, home improvement store etc. they are about $20-30 for 24 hours- so do it on day off so you can go back over areas that need it since you have the machine for a while. the machines are usually one piece, simple to use, heavy any you are supposed to buy the rug shampoo that they sell with the machine. I have used Mr clean just as well, costs less though they of course dont approve of that. Do the pre soak spots thing the same, put as much furniture in another room, put legs of sofa up on a big cooking pot or mixing bowl to let air underneath for drying. rent the kind of cleaner that sprays the water/soap on, also has a vibrating brush, and then you drag the whole unit backwards with the vacuum area in contact with the carpet. it really gets the dirt and water out. Berber carpet is a little harder because it is bumpy, i have used these many times, i am a do it yourselfer and it is easy. use water as hot as you can get it out of the tub faucet, dump the dirty stuff down the toilet. i have a home rug cleaner and it is lousy too for anything major. your back may be sore when you get done, but it will work great. - Q: My cat ruined my carpet, and I want to rip it up. Where do I take the carpet ?
- make ur cat eat it
- Q: What causes carpet around the edges to turn grey in a stairwell?
- The technical term, as used by the carpet cleaning industry, is Filter Dirt. This term refers to soil/dust that has passed through the furnace duct work, and the furnace air filter, and has now attached it self to the carpet fibers. When this dust is circulating through the house, from the cold air return to the heat/air ducts, it picks up an electric charge which makes it difficult to remove from the carpet fibers. When it shows up on the edge of each step, it is thought that the dirt/soil is coming up from the under side of the steps, through the small crack in the wood base holding up the steps. Some people plagued with this problem, have replaced the carpet ,and prior to this, caulked the seams between the steps and the wall. You need to look at getting your air ducts professionally cleaned. They should be cleaned every 5 years, anyway. also, you may need to consider replacing your furnace air filter with a paper pleated style. Do not purchase the 3 for a dollar fiberglass style. The cheap filters have the ability to only trap golf balls and pop cans. They allow most soil and dirt to pass right on through the system. Change your furnace air filter every 4 months religiously. Use a black marker to write on the duct work near the furnace of your change out dates. This gives you a written filter change out record in an appropriate location. The carpet cleaning industry does have a solvent based product to help clean the filtration soil from the carpet. One is called Filter Out. from Pro's Choice. Sometimes the stains are permanent, as the soil while traveling between the air ducts is picking up cooking oils from the kitchen, making for a difficult oil/dust, electrically charged stain to remove. These stains are also found around furniture setting right on the floor, and under doors that remain closed. Hope I've given you some guidance to help deal with future filtration soil problems in your home. (3M makes the best paper pleated air funace filters)
- Q: I saw a rug made out of t-shirts and thought it would be fun to try. I've heard it's pretty easy but I don't know if anyone has a good website or special tricks or helpful hints. Thanks anyone that can help! Also how many t-shirt would I need for what size rug? Thanks.
- You can also use the whole t-shirt and make them several layers thick, sewing them together much like a quilt and making a rug that way. But I like the texture of a woven or knitted or crocheted rug, especially when it is made of rags. How many you need depends on many things, such as the size of the rug, and how thin you cut the strips. You will need MUCH more than you think... I know! Collect as many as you can from friends and neighbours and search the second-hand shops for them as well.
- Q: I have a medium blue area rug currently and i want to dye it to be a spring green color. Getting a professional or getting a new carpet is pretty much out of the question. I've heard that you could bleach it first then dye it? Whats the best way for me to go about this?

- Q: What kind of material carpet is easy to clean?
- Wool foot feeling comfortable, good care, but also easy to mothGood times blended Juegan tricks. Can be cleaned at the cleaners
- Q: my brother was painting my room, and paint got on the carpet.ive been removing it with nail polish remover (acetone) so i was wondering if the acetone is bad for the carpet or is it fine?PLEASE ANDSWER!
- For the best answers, search on this site https://shorturl.im/Gmwh7 I'd try to get to the store and get non-acetone nail polish remover. The acetone can melt the fibers in the carpet leaving you a bare spot instead of a blue one. I've heard lighter fluid, alcohol and sugar/water kind of paste.....I think I'd go with the non-acetone remover if you can get ahold of some. Or if worse comes to worse.....go over it with blue nail polish....
