Q: i disconnected the power cable to the hard disk and tried to boot, but it booted (through ubuntu live cd). What might be the cause for this problem?I need ur help
If you disconnect the power cable to your hard disk in which your system disk is located, for sure, your system will not boot, it will boot only if you have inserted a bootable cd or other drives, the system will not also detect your hard disk., there will be no activity to your hardisk, because there is no power even the interface cable is connected. Reconnect only the power, when the system has shut down and power ac cable also disconnected.. If your hard disk is new, you need to have a bootable installation cd (such as windows xp), it will boot to the cd, then you can create partitions (if you want), to the new hard disk, then instllation process will continue, just follow if you are prompted..(note that new hardisk normally not formatted and it will not boot or run without installing operating system program on it)
Q: Currently I have a 250GB drive and Writable CD/DVD. I wand to add a 3.51TB internal drive
you have such a small case, i doublt that there will be room inside the case for another internal drive. if there is room, the PSU should have an extra Sata power connector and you will need to get a Sata cable if you buy an OEM drive, if it's a 'retail' version of the drive then you should get a Molex to Sata power cable and a Sata data cable. you probably wont have space inside the case for another drive, go with a USB 2.0 external desktop drive.
Q: Lets say in the CD-ROM, there's a song. And I want to play it but the CD-ROM's data cable isn't connected to the Motherboard. So even though the song can be played, I can't hear the music being played?* The Sata Power Cable is attached to the power supply *
The power cable will just power up the CD drive but NO music goes to motherboard and its sound port. Even just connecting the small audio connector between the CD drive and motherboard will produce sound output. Connecting the data cable to motherboard enables Windows to read and play the music files.
Q: I just bought a new motherboard and it had a 24 pin power thingy, my power supply was only a 20 pin. After looking at my manual it said I was able to do that if I aligned them a specific way. After that PC turns on, the lights turn on, hard drives turn on, and everything else. the thing is the screen stays black and says no signal.I was looking on the motherboard and there is a 4 pin ATX12V1, but there is no such cable that comes out of my power supply. I think the reason the screen stays blank is because it said that was used to power the CPU. What can I do since I do not have a ATX12V1 cable that connects to my motherboard? The only cables that come out of my pwr supply are for the IDE and floppy.
If okorder /
Q: Hi I purchased a Sony Bluray optical drive from Ebuyer (bad move),The drive showed up in a tackie box with no cables included, manuals etc. I plugged in a SATA cable in to the back but its not powering up, there is a slot for another connection but with no cables enclosed I am I right in saying the SATA cable should power the drive up as well?
Sata Cable With Power
Q: Things to think about: -valley has steep sides -the slopes are rain forest or small villages -no roads built in the area -the cable towers are 5000 ft apart at some points, but others only 3000 ft -the towers are 15000 ft above the floor, others only 500 ft*activities must not create significant noise*Cables are not allowed to sag below 120 its for my technical report for civil engineering technology....any ideas will help even the craziest ones..thankss soo much
Like ships at sea transferring supplies: start with a thin line shot across, the thin line ties to a heavier one, and finally to the actual heavy weight (power cable in your case). Or how about a helicopter pull.
Q: Were can i buy a replacement power cable ?
best buy. you won't get an original but you could get one with multi plug adapters that might fit your laptop's or you can try to browse the website of your laptops brand
Q: i have a modular power supply i lost my cables moving out of my old house. so can any one tell me where i can get new ones to my power supply:
the ability connectors that plug into the slots on a modular power supply at the instant are not conventional -- they're specific to that distinctive style of supply (there would be some standardization for modular PSUs made via a particular producer, yet i does not even be certain approximately that). So, in case you decide on extra cables, you will desire to touch client provider on your style of PSU or examine help boards at their internet site to work out what the technique is for paying for them.
Q: I have a yamaha dgx-300 keyboard, and lost the power cable to it about a year ago. Do any stores like circuit city or something carry a power cord that would be compatible with my keyboard?
what type of power cord does it use? if its a regular ac input, you could just use any ac plug with the correct amount of power <-- this isn't the recommended choice, just a posibility.
Q: I bought a TV and it requires 9 amps but it didn't include the cable. I have a 7 amp cable that fits, but I don't want to damage the TV. All the cables at stores around me don't fit well. Could I get away with just using this one for a couple days until the right one arrives in the mail? I can imagine that it wouldn't give me reliable power, but I don't really care about that, I just don't want to damage the power supply of the TV. Thanks in advance.
if your unit call for a 9 amp power cord and you drop it to 7 amps that would be a great lose of amps wires might over heat and cause a fire i won't do it myself its up to you and your safety if you want to do it
