- Q: I get the downloads usually from mod the sims 2 but I find it frustrating as there is no-one to ask ,they refer one to the frequently answered questions .Mystifying statements such as you will find this under a rug or a picture!!!What on earth does this mean?
- ok when you unzip or un rar the file it goes into programs/eagames/sims2/do= wnloads or wherever your sims2 is located. then it should show up in game u= nder the matching catagory. like when i just put new pictures for wall in a= nd they are under the picture section in buy mode. the new skins are in the= make a new family mode with the astrix. the new archectecture is under build mode. if they are not showing you can try the loop symbol for the main catagory it shows everything not broken by type like all plants all wall hanging all rugs in that section. double check you have them in the eagames sims2 download folder not in temp or elsewhere WHEN YOU ARE IN DECORATING MODE JUST TAP TO OPEN THE COROSPONDING PICTURE...RUGS HAVE RUGS PICTURE FRAME HAS WALL THINGS LIKE POSTERS AND PAINTINGS, THE FLOWERS HAS FLOOR AND TABLE STUFF LIKE VASES AND CANDLES. IT IS PRETTY SIMPLE SET UP.

- Depends on what kind of rug you want. You can go to a carpet store to buy a remnant, then purchase an easy finishing edge cording so it doesn't get ratty edges. Or you can do some quilting and attach it to a straw or rubber type mat. Try googling DIY Rugs and look at all the different types you can make and what the materials would cost. There are so many choices!

- Q: I recently lost a large wall rug in my house due to a fire. The only information I have for it is the following: My grandmother purchased it from a traveling salesman in Canada sometime between 1967-1971. The dimensions of the rug are approx. 6ft long by 3-4 ft tall. It has a picture of polar bears on icebergs. The edging was red yarn-like fringes.I think that this rug is worth something but I can't find anything like it. I need to put a value on it for insurance purposes so I want to find out its true value and need documentation to prove that that rug, or one close to it, is worth a certain amount of money. My other grandmother had a similarly sized rug, possibly sold by the same guy, but it had a bullfighter and bull on it. Any help on this matter is greatly appreciated.
- I'm not incredibly familiar with rugs, but I can try to give some help. After searching around a little bit, it seems that most of the rugs fitting this description are between $200-400, but rugs also run much higher in price. If it is a hand-made rug of that size made by a fine rug-maker, you could be talking $1000 dollars or more. I can't say too much more, since I'm in no way qualified to appraise a rug, since I don't know enough about them, but I included some links in the sources that might help you price your rug. - Installing new carpet can be a hassle, especially if you are using carpet that requires a separate layer of padding. Instead, you can save time by purchasing foam-backed carpet that comes complete with the padding. The backing is not as thick as traditional foam padding, so the carpet will need to be replaced every few years if it is subject to a lot of foot traffic.
- Q: This rug has been in my room for at least ten years and it has never been cleaned. I don't have access to expensive supplies so I'll need to know how to do it myself with out steam `cleaners or anything else... I have heard of using oxyclean which I do have but I'd need instuctions. (this rug is VERY large... 10' by 13'). Thank youDanielle
- For a rug this large, I suggest using either a foaming cleaner, like Woolite Spray Foam Carpet cleaner or a dry granule cleaner like Capture or Resolve. The both types of cleaners are a simple application. Just spray on the foam, agitate with a brush to work into the fibers, allow to dry and vacuum up. Dry granule, sprinkle on surface and work into the fiber with a brush and let dry, then vacuum. If you have spots or stains, just work either into it with a brush. I like the Woolite because it also contains a scotch guard that leaves a stain repellent and makes cleaning up spills easier without staining.

- Q: i spilled 4 little dots of black fabric dye..is there a way to clean it with out messing up the carpet.
- Unfortunately, the dye is permanent. Your best bet is a Carpet Transplant: Cut the stained area out using a razor knife. Be careful to cut only the carpet, not the padding under it. Cut a piece of replacement carpet from a place no one will ever notice, like from inside a closet. Put the ruined carpet piece on a piece of paper and trace around it. This will be your template. Cut this out and use it as a pattern for the new piece. You want an exact match in shape. Glue the replacement piece of carpet in place using waterproof glue. Attach it to the padding underneath. Or you can sew it into place by sewing it to the existing carpet. (You will need a curved needle if you sew it in place.) The repair should be invisible when you're done. -
