- Q: If One doesn't care about phase-frequency or voltage and need a high speed generator can current be fed to the rotor so that these motors can be used as a generator? One more question:What voltage is needed for the rotor? Say for example the120 volts single phase motor's normal running speed is 10,000, what voltage needs to be fed to the rotor so that if one is turning the motor at this speed it would generate around 120 Volts. I know there is a lot of problem with this set up but since its being converted to DC and used in a hydrogen production system, Voltage or frequency isn't a big issue.
- Plug-in drills and vacuum cleaners have usually been universal motors, essentially the same thing as series connected DC motors. I don't believe they can be used as generators without changing the internal connections. The Dyson vacuums apparently use permanent magnet motors as do battery powered drills. Those motors would probably make good generators, but you would need to eliminate the electronic control and connect directly to the motor coils. Any motor that can be used as a generator would generate the rated voltage at the rated speed for which it was designed as a motor.
- Q: i need a good vacuum that won't break. my family and i had one that lasted for about 5-6 years then we kept buying vacuums for under $100 after that one broke then those broke within a month or two .. i need one that will last and won't be a waste of my money. one that is under $200 ... please help me...?? :-(
- I purchased a mid price range vacuum recently and didn't check to see what belt was required. In less than 6 months the belt failed and then I found that the belt was only available through a Hoover repair facility. Knowing that the repair cost would be expensive and happening often I cut my losses and bought a new vacuum of a different make and made sure that I could get any parts which I need to keep it running. My present one is a Dirt Devil and it has been great.
- Q: I am a vacuum cleaner expert. I'm sure many folks know a little more as far as models and dates of manufacture, but that's easy research stuff. Not to put anyone down surely- in fact much of my books appeal would be accredited to the beautiful images of particular models and their history. Aside from your typical coffee table book styling, my book would go deeper into the actual function of vacuum cleaners. Sort of an investigative attempt to dispel myth from fact, or hype from reality. quot;BORING G G...quot;, you might say. Well maybe, but have you ever picked up a book that captured your attention simply because it was done well. Then later you found yourself flipping back in your mind about some detail you recalled from that book? Hey, everyone cleans their floor right? My desire to write an in depth book about vacuum cleaners might be well accepted. Who knows? If you have any suggestions or ideas that might help me with my outline for the book please let me know.
- no i have instruct already
- Q: I have bought 4 vacuum cleaners in the past that all have fallen apart or just quit running right in the middle of using them, and all were less than 6 months old. I got tired of buying high price vacuum cleaners and them not lasting even 90 days. I have bought Hoover, Eureka, Dirt devil, and Phantom vacuums all of them turning out to be what I would say to be large rip offs.
- So okorder /
- Q: What do you call the type of person who buys a vacuum cleaner to use it once and then returns it?
- An idiot?
- Q: Oke this sounds kinda dumb but i was wondering..IF i had a space suit which would make me able to ''fly'' just a few cm above jupiter, and i wouldnt fall in it. if i had a vacuum cleaner with me, HOW fast would it need to go to suck up some air of jupiter?ik gravity is terribly strong but still.. with the right speed it can be escaped right ?
- Jupiter's gravitational field is much stronger than any other planet of our Sun. There is no practical surface -- the atmosphere just gets more and more dense as you approach the planet. You could potentially devise some sort of airplane like vehicle which could fly through the atmosphere. Engine technology would be only one problem. Temperatures are cold, escape velocity is very high, and many other problems need to be solved. Getting a sample of Jupiter's atmosphere could be as simple, if you have solved the other problems, of having a vacuum bottle, opening it to draw in and capture a sample, then closing the bottle and leaving. You can read a lot about Jupiter's gravity, temperatures, size, escape velocity, and so on by searching for Jupiter in wikipedia.
- Q: I have a 1,200 square foot house and a dog that sheds a lot. I used the Swivel Sweeper 360 G2, and it sucks! I used it on rugs and my hardwood floors. I have hardwood floors throughout my house and some rugs in some of the rooms. I know attachments would help for the small areas like under the desks and TV stand. I need to find a good vacuum to buy and use for my house. I have no ides what is the best for my needs, there are so many to choose from. Please any advice would be very helpful!!!
- You want a vacuum that disconnects the beater bar underneath so it doesn't beat the wood floors and damage them. Most canisters have different heads...one for carpets, one for hard floors--no beater bar just suction with brush fittings to keep from maring the floor. . I love uprights for carpets, but for hard floors, tile, etc I want a lower profile vacuum--one that sits lower to the ground. The Sears Precision canisters are pretty good. I've gone with the cheap Dirt Devils and tossed them into the trash......waste of money.
- Q: Hi,I am looking to buy a vacuum cleaners but am unsure on which one to get? Does anyone have any good recommendations. My price range is about ?150, preferably not a Dyson; and obviously lots of suction lolI have some animal so maybe one with a animal section or something.Oh, BTW i would preferably upright. Thanks
- Well, amongst folks with animals, the Dyson is the favorite. We had the supposedly top-rated (by Consumer Reports) Hoover Windtunnel upright prior to our Dyson (which Consumer Reports has no use for). There is no comparison. I have to empty the Dyson at least three times every time we vacuum our 1400 sf house. I could go a month without replacing the bag on the Hoover. Plus, Dysons don't catch fire. I've seen ads for other makes showing their models picking up ball bearings and all kinds of stuff. Next time I need to pick up hundreds of marble-sized steel ball bearings, I'll buy it.
- Q: I have very long hair and two cats who shed terribly. Most vacuum cleaners I've purchased get bound up quickly due to the hair issue that I have in my household. The belt and the brush roller need to be replaced often. Do you have any suggestions on a good vacuum (one that doesn't require financing) that I won't need to turn upside down every time I use it just to clear several strands of hair?Thank you very much!
- Maintenance okorder
- Q: Are Kirby vacuum cleaners worth it?
