Q: So earlier my passenger low beam wouldn't turn on. i went and bought a circuit tester and found out a wire located here _-_ lt;=== (the bottom right plug on the socket) that wire wont light up. i bought a socket at the same time, but i dont know how to replace it. and even if i did.. i don't see how that would fix the wire.It's possible the wire is fine. but i cleaned the socket and all that and still nothing.any advice would be great. i really need to drive at night1994 GMC jimmy: The wire that leads to your socket may be worn or damaged. Find out which wire is not working. Use a meter that has a sharp probe, so you can stab the wire with the probe and see if it is putting out the electricity, up the wire from where you put the socket on. If the wire is not working, but off the part of the wire that is not working and splice in a new piece of wire and attach to the socket. Hopefully this will help you.

Q: wiring has ceramic poles: Check to see if these wires are still live, if the electric has been updated that does not mean the old wiring had been removed. If you are unsure call electrician, old knob and tube wiring can be dangerous.

Q: i need to know how to rewire it to make it fire the only wire that is still there is the one that runs to the distributor cap all the other wires are gone is it sopose to wire to the key please help: + wire is power wire the other small wire from the coil go's into the distributor (the metal part not the cap) the big wire to the cap.. sometimes the power wire comes from a resistor that reduces the voltage

You just Need to Hook the large Power wire for your amp direct to battery, The large black ground wire to the frame or body, Something metal. And the small Power wire To Switched power. Q: ok so i wired the subs to the amp now, the positive (Red) goes to the battery, the ground (Black) is currently grounded to the metal under my drivers seat. My question is does it matter the color wire is that goes to the stereo? Can i use a red or black? Does it really matter? If not, where exactly would i hook it up behind my aftermarket sony headunit?: ok man to answer your question NO , it does not matter what color the wire is. what DOES matter is that your using the same brand wire,(just because some 4 gauge wire is bigger than Other 4 gauge wire) and it MUST be the same gauge wire for positive and GROUND. You will also need to run the REMOTE TURN ON wire from the back of the headunit to the REM on the amp. (without this wire the amp does not know to turn on. Next thing is your RCA cables these will run from the back of the headunit to the input on the amplifier. Last thing (OBVIOUS) is the speaker wire both to wire the subs to the correct ohm load and to also run from the speaker terminal cup (if you have one in the sub box) to the amp. * Looking back i think i miss read the question, no the wire color does not matter, just make sure its the same size as the wire from the headunit (not bigger or smaller) so probably around 16-18 gauge wire, color does NOT matter.
