Q: I just learned how to do 3-way wiring, so that I can turn a light off from 2 different switches. My question is, how do I add another light to that mix, so that both lights come on/go off at the same time when I turn the switches on and off? (It's for a closet that has 2 lights in it that I want to come on/go off at the same time).: Very basically, you must have two wires going from light to light. A black wire and a white wire.( A bare copper wire should be included with the pair. It is a ground wire and grounds both light boxes together.) Back to the black and white wires. The black wire should be connected to the black switch leg wire at the first light box as well as to the first light fixture. The white wire is the neutral and should be connected to the white wire of both light fixtures. That's called a parallel connection. Just a note: There are several ways to wire three way switches, so my answer presumes there are two wires going from one of the switches directly to the light fixture. (A white wire and a black wire).

Q: hello,i have lots of 8 gauge wire resting at my closet. And i'm very interested on doing the big 3 upgrade to my 2000 mitsubishi eclipse gt. May i see any improvement with 8 gauge wire?...i know that at least 4 gauge is recommended...but i dont want to spend money.: You probably won't see/hear a difference even if you use 1/0 wire, but there will be one. 8 awg big three will probably at least double the current carrying capacity of your stock wiring. To say it would be a waste of time would be ignorant IMO. It certainly won't hurt anything and will make a significant reduction in resistance compared to what's already there. I did my big 3 with 8 awg. I'm running 1500w rms with a stock 130A alternator.

Q: I have a set of pilot wi-200 strobe lights and they have three wires and i want to hook them up to a optx headlight strobe control module the wires are gray white and black can you tell me where to hook them: I wouldn't try it. The gray, white, and black wires are the high voltage strobe wires. The control module changes the patterns before the voltage is increased. There is nothing you can do here.

The only real way to connect one wire to another is slide heat shrink tubing over one wire twist the two wires and apply melted 60/40% solder to make a shiny connection slide the heat shrink over the solder joint and heat it to shrink the insulating heat shrink then use electrical tape over that.

Because I need 3/0 wire direct burriedI am looking to buy some extra 3/0 wire and found some on craigslist for a reasonable price....: It means the wire is #8 not #3/0. Also, be very leary of buying wire from unknown sources. A single pinhole in the insulation can lead to failure in a year or so underground.

Q: How could you relate greater wire length resulting in greater resistivity to the context of home: Greater wire length will certainly give you a higher resistance. Since heat is measured in watts, and watts (W) =I^2R, where I=Current and R= resistance, then if you double the resistance of a wire (by making it twice as long) you also double the ammount of watts lost in the wire. Since watts equates to heat, this ammount of heat will make the wire hotter. If you use an extension lead, and wind it round a drum, it can get very hot indeed.

Field right, Current upwards, Motion/force (thumb) direction is away from you. Seen from the side this gives the vertical wire a rotation in the vertical plane .. which way depends on which side you view it from. ('conventional' viewing would give a clockwise rotation)
