- There is one perfect bracket remaining in the Quicken game, but the guy that made it didn't submit it for the money - it was one in the just for fun group. - Q: i recently purchased a nikon sc-28 ttl cord and i cant figure out how to mount to my flash bracket as the ttl cord doenst have a shoe mount any suggestions?
- Generally, TTL cords are meant for off camera use, hand holding the flash to get different and odd angles. My older SC-17 TTL cord is the same way but on the bottom part that the flash mounts on has a 1/4x20 threaded hole in it. This is the same standard threaded hole for tripods and such. I went to a large hardware store and bought a wide head bolt (it was actually some kind of a foot or something) but it had the 1/4x20 threaded part needed and a wide thin head. I first used a power grinder to shape the foot part to fit into a flash shoe, slowly, taking off metal, a little at a time. When I made it to have a good solid press in fit, I cut the length of threaded shaft off to about 1/2 to 3/8 of a inch so that when it was screwed into the female part of the TTL shoe, it bottomed out, leaving enuf room to slip the assembly onto a flash shoe on a L shaped handle or other shoes made for a flash, but off the camera. You may have to do as such your self. Necessity is the mother of invention here and we often have to - invent - bits of equipment for ourselves. I have noticed that since world went - digital - the # of inventive people went down as well as the companies making inventive products. - Let's take a bracket with traditional scoring- 1 pt for first round, 2pts for round two, etc. At this point, you'd want to have around 90 points to be in serious contention to win your pool. - Very common for brackets to pop off. I've seen it a million times. Must be on a tooth that does not affect the progress so Monday will be fine. You can use a tiny dab of denture adhesive to secure the bracket if it is annoying you.

- The Pentax K10D goes into and out of bracketing mode with just a press of a button and moving the front adjuster 1 click put you into the mode and selects 3 frames another click and it sets it for 5 frames, the rear adjuster sets the exposure difference between frames from 0.3 stops to 2 stops, quick and simple, typical Pentax. In menu you can even change the order of shots so the longest shutter speed is first, which makes it easier to hand hold. As Pentax no longer make them you can sometimes come across them on OKorder, sometimes SRS in Watford (who deal direct with Pentax) may have a factory refurb, full retail kit and fully guaranteed for a year, worth a ring. srsmicrosystems .uk/ Often there are so few of these they don't put them on their web site. - Q: I am trying to find an electrical conduit bracket that mounts conduit to a wall, but spaced away from the wall to negate the need to bend the conduit to fit a junction box. The conduit trade size is 1 1/4 and I attached a picture of the bracket in question
- I would try putting a small piece of wood under the bracket and against teh wall to lift it out more.

- The best would be the highest bracket, because it would mean that you would have a very large amount of income. The worst would be the lowest bracket, because it would mean that you had very little income.
- Q: I took 20,000 out of my mutual funds this year so I know I will have to pay taxes on it. This amount basically doubles what I made in a yearwill I get put in a higher tax bracket? - If you doubled your investment in the year, that means your taxable gain will be 10,000. Whether it pushes you into the next higher bracket depends on how close you are to the next tax bracket without taking into account the gain. Also, if you have held the mutual fund for more than a year, it is taxed as long term capital gains, so the tax rate is capped below your marginal tax rate anyways.
- Q: I have a Pentax K200D and would like to auto-bracket in RAW to create HDR images. How do I do that? Can I do that? I've been doing it manually and it's kind of a pain.
- I don't know if you can open RAW images from a Pentax in Adobe Camera Raw. I'd imagine you can, though. In the initial shot, you need to make sure you expose it so the majority of your histogram is right in the middle. This will ensure you have a lot exposure to play with. Pull it up in ACR (Adobe Camera RAW), then use the exposure slider to adjust the exposure of the image. You're going to output a few images Output one as shot as a jpeg. Then output four jpeg images over exposed using that exposure slider. One at +1, one at +2, one at +3 and one at +4. Then do the same thing for the underexposed shots. A shot at -1, -2,-3 and -4. In the end, you'll have nine jpeg images. Use a program like Photomatix to blend them into an HDR image. To keep all the jpegs sorted out as I output them from ACR, I just call them what the exposure for the shot is set at (0.jpeg for the as shot, +3.jpeg, etc.).
