Q: I bought Nexxtech Evolution series 16 gauge 30' wire to be able to bring my rear speakers farther back in my room. I have an Altec Lansing 5.1 speaker system with remote and all the speakers connect to the back of the sub. (front are red wire, center is blue, and rear is gray) they are all have the black wire and the colored wire. The wire I just bought are brown, and have a stripe of gray on the second wire (polarized wires) but the ones I bought are much thicker wire... will it still work to just strip/twist/tape the wires to extend the rear speakers? or did I buy the wrong wire? and also, how do I know which to twist with which? (the ones I bought aren't really that clear on which is which... which end is positive and which is negative).Answer quickly please!: First of all, wires really don't make a difference at all - not for speakers anyway. Any cheap wire from home depot will work fine. The stuff they use for lamps works very well. Secondly, the colors, stripes, etc. don't make a difference either. Here's the only thing that matters - make sure you connect the (+) or RED wire from your amp to the (+) or RED terminal on your speaker. Likewise with the other wire. That's all you need to keep track of. If you don't do this, then your bass will suck.

Q: Hi,I'm trying to install a ceiling light with a 3 wire configuration (white, black, ground) into a wire configuration of 4 wires (white, red, black, ground). This is configured for two on/off switches.So far, I have white to white, black to black, and ground to ground with the red capped off. This works with one switch perfectly, however when I hit the other switch, the circuit breaker blows.Please help, and thank you!: The three wire plus ground coming from the light to the switch, needs a FEED to the two switches! So, one of the three wires has to be connected to the feed. That would be the black wire. I believe that the white wire is one of the switch legs coming from one of the switches. That is why when you turn on the second switch, the breaker pops. Take that white wire coming up from the switch box off of the group of whites in the ceiling box and cap it.

Q: If I knew which wires went to trim, rpms,engine hours,ect... I could follow them. The engine wiring harnes is stil intact, but I dont know which wire goes to each no matter which end I look at. Like I said wiring is no problem, don't know motors.: trim is dark brown with white trace. tach is gray. why do you need an hour meter? purple is switched power. black is ground. black with yellow trace is kill. yellow with black trace is choke/primer. yellow with red trace is solenoid/starter. now, let me hold a dollar big man.

Q: I need to buy some electrical wire for my car, does it matter what color the copper wire is inside of ( i.e. black,yellow,red,green,blue,etc.): Color in electronics wire does not matter. It is simply so you can trace that the blue wire goes from here to there. Generally the Black is ground and Red is supply. In house AC wiring the black is hot, white is ground or neutral and green is earth or frame ground.

Q: I have a 300 watt pioneer home stereo and four 15speakers that are250 watts each would it be ok to use this wire i just bought here is the link was wanting to know if it was ok to use if it seas car stereo wire thanks: Its not very good wire the CCA stands for copper clad aluminum in other words its not real copper wire its aluminum... You need good copper wire for best results... also Oxygen Free Cooper wire or (OFC) is even better look for copper wire they have it on OKorder...OFC is better because the copper content is higher but most copper wire is still good and has good copper content if its advertized as copper wire...

Q: we need to know if we don't connect the red wire and just cap it off.: the four wires are for the fan and the light on the fan do you have two switches for the fan itself one for light one for the fan blades? The red is the same as black its just a control so hoook it where it goes if your new fan has a light or just cap it.
