Q:I know I am suppose to run the RCA cables and power cables on opposite sides of the car, but which side do I put the speaker wires on, ps I have an amp so I'll be running the wires from my trunk: in my car i ran the speaker wires on the same side as the RCA's

Q:I have a 1983glastron cvx-16 and need to wire the lights, tach horn fuel guage there are 2 wires coming off the fuel guage one pink from the center and the other looks to be comming off of a bracket not conacted to the tanks fuel guage: Hi mate, generally for your guages you will need a + and a - for the lights in them to work and the guage (im guessing is electronic) will have one left for the sender wire to hook up to. at the other end the + is to be connected to your sender and a - to the nearest ground or metalic or run back to your - on your batt. most of them will work in the same way and volts is the easiest. sorry no schematics but generally if you wire it backwards it will work backwards. ive never hurt 1. hope this helps

Q:im hooking up a air/fuel tomorrow and i need to know what color the wire for the sensor signal is on my rt... i have 4 wires and heres the colors and were they are from. t/w or o/t from c124 b/lbl from c14 and c315 b gound and o/dg from fuse a... need answer thanks: It should be the BLK/ LB wire (although my wiring schematic shows that wire BLK/ GREEN), It will be the only circuit that have a varying voltage between 0-1 volt. Probe the wires with a DVOM and determine which wire has the signal, one wire will supply B+ for the heater, one is heater ground, one is reference supply voltage and one is signal return The signal return is the circuit you need to tap.

Q:Can your use the power wire that they sell at home depo to do the big three upgrade or is it better to just get wire from a car audio store?: You can use any wire as long as it is the proper gauge required for the job you are doing! I am sure it will say in your installation instructions on which gauge of wire they reccomend for proper installation of the equipment you are installing

Q:what is the best speaker wire for some subwoofers that are rated between 500rms watts to 750rms watts: loxotox has finally conviced me that he is obviously lying about his accomplishments. There is no way in hell that 2 or 4 gauge wire will fit to wire up the coils on these subs. It is physically impossible, unless you shave down the wire. I would not recomend doing that at all, that is speaking from what I know about electronics. I would suggest using 12 or maybe 10 gauge wire. You can use lighter wire but will not get optimum performance from your sub.

Q:tryin to move dryer approx 8 more feet but existing wire not long enough have 12/2 wire can that be used to run 220 dryer: 12 wire is not heavy enough to pull a 220 dryer under any circumstances, and is against ANY code in America; and is a severe fire hazard. Besides, you need to have three wires - 10/3 0r 8/3 wire, anyway, so you would have a ground. Papaw

Q:Can old speaker wire cause a little static sound??: The only way I could see old wire causing what you describe is if there is a lot of oxidation on the part where it is making contact. It is possible, but not likely and just simply jiggling things should cause the oxidation to come off, if that is what it is.

Q:do i need a different wire for in-wall speakers or a regular speaker wire: You will best be served by wire that is properly shielded. There is specific wire designed to be installed in-wall, and that is what I would suggest for you to use for that application. . .

Q:just bought a brinks indoor motion sensor switch and having problems installing. the regular light switch has 2 black wires that was connected to one end and a red to the other. the white wires in the wall are already together. the motion sensor switch has black, blue, red wires and its ground wire. the instructions says not to use the red wire for single switch so confused on how to wire them.: I would ignore the current setup and do what Brinks says. You can try using the wiring and capping the wires not used, test and if it works, perfect!

Q:ok so i have a power acoustik ov2-2200 amp right now and all my wires are working fine with this amp....i am going to buy a lanzar MXA282 which is more wattage (RMS)Do i need to get any new wires to hook this amp up? like the power ground or remote wires? thx... sorry for my ignorance :/: If you aare running with 4 gauge right now...your going to want to upgrade power and ground to 1/0 gauge. Your RCA should not have to be upgraded.
