- Q: Long Metalcore/Heavy Metal/Gothic Metal Songs?
- Common properties considered characteristic of a nonmetal include: Poor conductors of heat and electricity when compared to metals They form acidic oxides (whereas metals generally form basic oxides) In solid form, they are dull and brittle, rather than metals which are Lustrous, ductile or malleable Usually have lower densities than metals They have significantly lower melting points and boiling points than metals Common properties of metals Shiny 'metallic' appearance Solids at room temperature (except mercury) High melting points High densities Large atomic radii Low ionization energies Low electronegativities Usually, high deformation Malleable Ductile Thermal conductors Electrical conductors Common properties of metalloids Metalloids share characteristics of both metals and non-metals and are also called semimetals. Metalloids are typically semi-conductors, which means that they both insulate and conduct electricity. This semi-conducting property makes Metalloids very useful as a computer chip material. Examples of metalloid elements are Silicon and Boron.
- Q: Iv heard that most metal bands are actually christian in religion, but im just curious.
- This would depend on the type of metal somewhat. In my experience, gorilla glue does not work real well with metal to metal as it is not porous. I have used it to glue metal to wood and it works well with sheets of non galvanized steel to non pressure treated wood. For small metal pieces, it would probably not work well as gorilla glue also expands alot, and is not flexible at all. What I would recommend if this is something decorative is to check into having it soldered, if looks aren't an issue and it has to bear a load check into having it welded.
- Q: I have metal arms, but someone I know has metal legs. We always fight over which is better. What do you think?
- The chronological order of the games in the Metal Gear series is: Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes (Not yet released) Metal Gear Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake Metal Gear Solid/The Twin Snakes Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance (Not yet released) I'd recommend playing in storyline order, so start with 3. Portable Ops can be bought on PSN for $10, but unfortunately can only be played on PSP. Don't skip it if you don't have a PSP, though, or Peace Walker, which is in the collection, will make no sense to you. Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake are 8-bit games, so they're pretty dated by today's standards, but are easily some of the best 2D game ever. They can both be accessed in Metal Gear Solid 3's menu in the HD Collection. Metal Gear Solid is a PS1 classic you can download for $10, but there is also a GameCube remake called The Twin Snakes which is more faithful to the story established by other games and quite frankly, is just better. If you can't play GameCube games, the original will still suffice. Metal Gear Solid 4 is on the PS3, but it's getting a little hard to find these days, you might need to order it online. Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is a spin-off hack'n'slash game set after 4. It comes out this February. It isn't just hack'n'slash, though, some stleath elements (avoiding detection, destroying cameras, etc) still exist. Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes was just announced a few months ago. It takes place after Peace Walker but before Metal Gear. Other than this, we really don't know too much about it yet. The other night at the Spike VGA, a trailer for a game called The Phantom Pain was shown, and there is a lot of evidence to suggest it may be related to Metal Gear, and could even be Metal Gear Solid 5. Hope this helps you.
- Q: 10 pts. for the most knowledgable metal head on here.
- What exactly would you consider metalcore and how is it not metal? Bands like August Burns Red and As I Lay Dying have just as much a right to be considered metal as anything else. Elitists that ask questions like this are the reason metal is so fragmented in the first place. Hard rock nu-metal bands like Disturbed and Korn I can see being excluded but I don't understand one of the heaviest genres being left out.
- Q: Hey i would like some help becuase I just really got into metal 1 year ago and I would like some help.I don't want to find some metal heads and act retarded in front of them or act like a poserAnd what to watch out for thx (:
- What is the formula of the metal oxide. MO? M2O? MO2? You need to know in order to solve the problem. I will show you how to solve it, assuming it is MO (if it is not, you will need to account for that). If we pick an arbitrary number, like 100g, 67.2 g is metal and 32.8 g is oxygen. Since the atomic weight of oxygen is 16.0 g, 32.8 g O / 16.0 g/mol = 2.05 moles of oxygen. This is the part where the stoichiometry is important. Depending on the formula, this would determine the number of moles of metal. MO gives you 2.05 moles M (1:1 M:O), M2O gives you 4.10 (2:1 M:O), MO2 gives you 1.025 (1:2 M:O), etc. 67.2 g M / # moles M = MW of M Then use the atomic mass values on the periodic table to figure out what metal it is. Good luck.
- Q: Predict whether a reaction takes place in each of the following instances.Silver metal is added to hot water or exposed to steam.Zinc metal is added to hot water or exposed to steam.Chromium metal is added to hydrochloric acid. Lead metal is added to cold water. Mercury metal is added to hydrochloric acid
- Yes it's metal, not very good metal but metal all the same
- Q: I'm wondering what type of metal it is, I have seen on different periodic tables it being a transition metal and as a poor metal
- Metals: Strong Malleable Ductile Good conductors Form positive ions Highly dense (Examples: Lead, copper, aluminum) Non-metals: Brittle Dull Poor conductors Form negative ions Low density (Examples: Helium, sulfur, bromine) Metalloids: Have properties of metals and non-metals (Examples: Silicon or Gallium)
- Q: okay i just learn about it right..why do you use pure plate to make the impure metal plate pure..why dont you just use the pure metal instead than making the impure metal plate pure..
- Metal quickly conducts heat away from warm objects, and will therefore feel colder to the touch as an object made of wood, which has poor conducting capabilities.
- Q: I've been researching facts about metal reactivity for my homework, but can't seem to find any simple, straightforward information, but rather more complicated information. Can anyone provide any simple facts about reactivity of metals?
- you're the two attempting to commerce gadgets which on the on the spot are no longer waiting to be traded or you're a loose-to-Play participant this skill which you surely can now no longer replace and could make a purchase order on the Mann Co. shop to return to be a innovations-blowing value participant.
- Q: I hear about all sorts of genres of metal, and don't particularly feel like looking them up on wikipedia. Can you give me general characteristics/definitons about, but not limited to:Black MetalDeath MetalExtreme MetalPower Metaland could you also give me some really good examples of each? Thanks! Also, any other genres of metal you feel like defining would be much appreciated. Thanks again!
- All cheaper, non-precious metals are called 'base metal'. That includes copper, brass, bronze, pewter, iron, tin, zinc and so on. Precious metal are gold, silver, platinum, palladium, rhodium and a few others. Metals are 'precious' because they are rare (expensive), beautiful etc. A lot of base metal is very beautiful on it's own (I love solid copper and brass/bronze jewelry), but most commercially available base metal jewelry is plated (with gold or rhodium/silver) to look like precious metal. That's where the problems start. The plating wears off after a short while and the base metal starts being visible. If it is pinkish, it is copper. So, as far as I am concerned, you are fine if you buy solid base metal. That way, the base metal is polished and sealed (check out the link below for some shiny copper earrings) and you can clean it to a bright color. It's the plated metal, I would stay away from, especially for a ring.
