Q: I have rugs on hardwood floors but these gets dirty very quickly as I broom daily and vacuum once or twice a week and then clean the floor with murphy oil but still rugs gets dirty and whats the best way to keep neat and clean
Get a container of dry carpet cleaning granules. Resolve, Capture and Chem-Dry all make them and they do not damage the fiber, will brighten the rugs and take care of any spotting or dirt. I use them on all of my areas rugs from silk to wool, antique to new to keep them looking clean. You simply sprinkle the granules on the rug, agitate with a soft brush where there is traffic dirt or stains, let the granules dry and then vacuum off the dust remaining. All of them have and leave a fresh clean scent, too.
Q: I got some nail polish on our carpeting. How do I clean it off? It's red nail polish on light tan carpet and it looks terrible!
You can usually just cut the nail polish off with scissors. Dissect any clumps first by cutting them in half or thirds or smaller. Then just cut the very tips of the fibers. Work slowly. Don't cut a single millimeter more than you have to and pull up while cutting. This will help prevent divots in the carpet. Try your best to cut just one or two fibers at a time...not whole clumps. This will work unless you have already used a solvent and worked the polish further into the carpet. Also...cutting the polish works on shag, frieze, and plush carpets, but not loopy carpets, like Berber. If you've worked the polish further into the carpet or if you have a loopy carpet, you can fix the problem with a carpet transplant. Carpet transplant: 1. Cut the stained area out using a razor knife. Be careful to cut only the carpet, not the padding under it. 2. Cut a replace piece of carpet from somewhere no one sees, like from inside of a closet. If you have leftover carpet that matches, use this. 3. Trace around the ruined piece of carpet on a piece of paper. This will be your template for the new piece. You want an EXACT match in both shape and size. 4. Use your template to cut the replace piece. 5. Glue or sew the new piece into place. If you use glue, make sure it is waterproof glue. If you would rather sew the piece to the existing carpet, you will need a curved needle. The repair should be undetectable once you're done.
Q: ... if I wanted to sell it spur of the moment tomorrow. My entire family is going to Disneyland for Thanksgiving and I really want to go, only I don't have the money to do so. I just wanted to know what to expect for the rug. Please give serious answers. Thanks!
Have an Oriental rug dealer appraise it. They are the only ones who can give you an accurate figure. It depends on things like whether it's handmade or machine made, and how it is on wear and tear, which isn't always visible until it gets bad. You wouldn't get cash on hand anyway, they'd give you a check if you sold it. Plan ahead next time.
Q: the carpet is really just nasty in my car........i'd like to get it replaced....it's a tiny bmw?any ideas on how much it would cost???? anyone had this done?
Also, I already checked JC Whitney for you. No BMW carpet kits.
Q: Who has the glue formula for laying the carpet?
Production process:The water is added to the reaction pot, the temperature is raised to 70 DEG C, and then slowly added to the polyvinyl alcohol, and the temperature is increased to 90~95 DEG C, so that the PVA is completely dissolved.Cooling the polyvinyl alcohol solution to 80~85 DEG C, dropping hydrochloric acid, stirring for 20 minutes, adding formaldehyde for condensation, takes about 60 minutes. After cooling and adjusting the pH value, adding urea for amino treatment, after sampling and passing the test, the pH was transferred to neutral, and the temperature was reduced to 40~50 DEG C and the material was discharged.
Q: I have new carpet in my apartment. When I try to vacuum, it clogs my vacuum. Should I get a better vacuum or not vacuum at all?
Your new carpet is doing a natural thing .. It s called pilling and fuzzing. Very common in staple type carpet. Most carpets are staple products. It will stop shortly unless there a defect in the carpet ( rare but it happens) Defiantly keep vacuuming. It s the best thing for carpets. Manufactures actually say to vacuum every day( YEAH LIKE THATS GOING TO HAPPEN LOL) GL

Q: we are in the market for a carpet shampooer/deep cleaner but on a bit of a budget. we are not looking to RENT one. anyone have any suggestions or recommendations? we would definitely need one that agitates the carpet.
You okorder .
Q: read my other post
The carpet was cut off a roll for your length you needed, to them once it leaves the building it is a raiment which means it is discounted. I dont believe they will take it back unless you possibly exchange it and they are nice to you. Cut carpet is like a special order item and returns may not apply.
Q: We want our living room to be black and blue. Right now, we have a black leather couch with blue throws on it and we need curtains and an area rug. I wanted a neutral rug with a little blue and blue curtains, but I cannot find any rug that fits that description and I have looked at millions of rugs. I am thinking I should just settle for a plain blue rug and get a neutral curtain. My husband thinks we could get a blue rug and blue curtains, but I think that is way too much blue for one room. What should I do?
I agree, that would be too much blue. Pick a third color to introduce into the color scheme and search for rugs that include all three colors and maybe one additional color if it's not too over powering. You want the rug to bring the whole room together. Too much of one solid color will make the room lack opposition and contrast. Therefore, it won't be too visually appealing and it will take away from creating a cozy atmosphere. Do you want the room to have more contemporary or traditional elements? Research the rugs, according to that too. I would base the color/design of the curtains on the rug you choose and also, on the height of the ceiling and color of the walls etc. Good luck, Im sure the room will be beautiful :)
