- Make sure that it is a 12AMP. Don't buy anything smaller! Also, I prefer the bagless, costs less to use it in the long run! Go to an Appliance Repair shop, they have all kinds of Reconditioned(rebuilt) vacuums, and most of those have the same warranty as a new one!!!
- Q: crazy. Although I empty my bags or canister frequently, my vacuums only seem to last a few months. I just got a Dirt Devil about 2 months ago and its suction is just horrible now. Can anyone recommend a vacuum for under $500 that will last? Thank you.
- well i have several canister vacumes that work great kenmore's, but for the dog hair i use a small 5 gallon shop vac so that my vacumes wont smell like dog or get clogged.. try a small shop vac works great!!!! and cheap

- You can buy miniature vacuum cleaners hat are USB powered to use on your keyboard, but the ?2.99 one I bought didn't have that much power to be of any use. An actual cleaner with the crevice nozzle (or upholstery nozzle if it's a powerful beast) would do fine, Alternatively, you can buy cans of compressed air that have a thin straw on the end. This can be put inbetween the keys to blast muck out. Only pop off keys if you remember where they go. Note that laptop keyboards and some other types of keys (Generally the ones that don't make a 'click' sound when pressed) don't clip straight on and could be damaged by removing them the wrong way.

- Some dust does go back out the vacuum's exhaust. the better filter that you have on the vacuum the less dust it will spew out. However you are vacuuming up far more dust than what is being put back into the air. If you have severe allergies or respiratory problem you can always wear a mask while vacuuming.

- Depends. If you have a lot of ambition drive, starting your own business can be a great thing. Being your own boss is actually more difficult than merely waking up in the morning and going to a job - because YOU are in charge of your company, you will have to make ALL the decisions to make sure you are profitable, make sure your customers are happy, and possibly oversee employees. You don't need anything other than ambition and drive, plus some starting capital (money you would use to buy starting supplies for your business). A few thousand dollars should be a good start for vacuum cleaners. Think things through carefully before you take out a loan. If you feel you would be happy and be able to maintain enough organization to make the business work, good for you! I wish you good luck.

- I recommend that you check the March 2006 issue of Consumer Reports. On page 30 is a full report with ratings on vacuum cleaners. They tested both uprights and canisters, and the Bosch Premium Prestige($800) came out number 2 in the canisters. The Sears Kenmore Progressive($500) came out number one, and had more features for less money. If you want to save even more money, check out the Sears Progressive with Direct Drive. It came it number one in the upright vacuums, and will save you even more money at $300. Good luck!

Is there a wood stove vacuum cleaner, and central vacuum cleaner multipurpose unit all in one unit ? - II wouldn't invest in a central unit because if you suck up wood ashes with a vacuum the house is going to burn down and the new central vac will go with it. Shovel out the ashes to a securely covered galvanized trash can. The can should be outside away from the house. Didn't your mama ever tell you not to play with fire? My brother made a good living off of people such as you, he was a fireman.
