Q: I'm in a 5 piece band playing in about a 20x20 room. 2 walls aren't covered with boxes and the floor is linoleum. It's really loud in there and we need to dampen the room to a bearable level. We were thinking about getting 3 or 4 rugs for said 2 walls and floor. But then we started considering acoustic foam. I'm sure acoustic foam is more effective than rugs, but since we're on a really tight budget, is it really worth it to spend twice as much on foam? Or will rugs suffice? Side question, if we get rugs, could we just get 2 and put them on the floor since i'm certain the linoleum is the main culprit, or do the walls probably need it to?: well my band and i use the foam. it works pretty good. but the rug idea... im not sure if that will be dense enough

Q: I found a bath rug that is the perfect color for my kitchen but I don't know if it matters that it is a bath rug or not. What is the difference? And would it matter if it was in the kitchen?: The only tme it matters is IF the backing to the rug is latex AND it is going over a vinyl flooring that is light colored. Latex backing will turn the vinyl yellow over time and for some reason, it tends to happen more in the kitchen then in the bathroom. I had a latex backed rug in the bathroom for 10 years, but picked it up and hung it to dry after the last shower of the day. I had the same rug in the kitchen which I picked up and washed whenever it needed it, but it was on the floor continuously for most of the time. The same vinyl was in the kitchen that was in the bathroom and the kitchen vinyl yellowed while the bathroom did not. And, it also happened to several of my renters as well. One of my genuis tenants used a carpet pad underneath the one in the kitchen, she lived there for 6 years and that prevented it from happening to her...

There are powder carpet cleaners that work great. I know you can get them at Oreck or Sears, and I'm sure other places as well. These are great products because you don't have to wait for the carpet to dry after using. Also, try Basic H-It's a Shaklee product and works wonders on all kinds of stains. My sister got me started with Shaklee and not only are their products environmentally safe but they really do work great! As you stated that you have small children, cleaning chemicals may not be something you want to put on your carpet.

Q: my mom wants to get a big but not too big or expense dragon rug. Where can she get it online? That really looks like a dragon? every time my mom searches for dragons rug on the computer she gets weird and not dragon rugs or even close to it. We live in a small town so the stores around here do not any dragon anythings. sO where can she find one that is worth the prices and the right size and looks like a real dragon and not a blob?: I don't know if it's what you're looking for but I got a rug from Ikea for my son that has two Chinese dragons on it. It's blue with a green dragon on each end. It's about 2 feet by 4 feet it was about $30 Canadian

Your pets could leave stains and some messes for you to get out of the carpet. Stay with the hard wood flooring.
