Q: We have a large carpet that we want to cut and lay over our cream one (to save it as we have a two year old) The carpet WILL fray and become untidy and we have heard that it will cost 80p per 12 inches to get it 'overlocked' or is it called 'binding' (the edges sewn up so it doesnt fray) and we just cant afford it as the measurements are 16 feet x 9 feet = ?40 (odd)... Ive done a little research and have come across 'double sided carpet tape' (?) also I see something else 'GLUE'.. that can be used. Does anyone out there know how we would do it... the tape AND glue (?) Can someone give me step by step instructions or directions on how to stop this carpet from coming undone and fraying. Q: We bought berber carpet and my new puppy decided to dig which pulled the thread. What kind of glue do you use to tediously put each loop back in the carpet? HELP!: You can't fix it. It will be more cost effective to cut out that piece and purchase a new piece to fit in.

Q: We just moved into a condo about 3 weeks ago... and we have white carpet. I accidently dropped my ashtray onto the floor of my room, and its caused a HUGE black stain....in a very obvious place! Q: Can carpet be laid on the floor heating?: It doesn't matter if just lay a small piece of carpet; but it won't be good if it is full laid because that the heat is difficult to come up, influencing the effect of heating.

Q: my brother spilled water on the carpet and instead of drying it up he just threw a towel over it and left it all night. now the carpet smells really bad of mildew. i tried washing it with soap and water and it helped a little. i tried febreeze but that did no good. i don't have a steam carpet cleaner.: The carpet just sat overnight and now smells of mildew? Wow. First you need to kill the mildew. I would spray it with Lysol so that you saturate the wet spot. You need to make sure that the padding underneath the carpet will be clean and dry, so you may even need to lift up the carpet to check the padding. If the water has saturated through to the padding, you need to Lysol that too. Then blot it with a towel to get as much of the moisture out as possible, and turn a fan on that spot and leave it for a couple of days until you are sure it is completely dry. Then work some baking soda into the carpet and vacuum it up.

Q: I have never washed a winter rug and my horses really needs doing but I'm not quite sure how !?Dry cleaners ?In the bath tub? (by hand) The washing machine looks to small... and I do not want to wreck it !!!Thankkss xx: ive never actually washed any of my rugs, but i hose down my saddle blankets. yo could always waterblast it, thatd be sure to get the hair out. if i out even a small saddleblanket in the washign machine, there seems to be hair on anythign that comes out of the machine for the next few washes. so i wouldnt put the rug in anything that isnt used solely for horse supplies

Q: I have to clean a carpet that has a red cool aid stain on it? Since it is not my carpet, I have no idea how long the stain has set into the carpet. I am willing to try just about anything short of a beach based cleaner? The carpet is an off white, so it's extremely noticable. Any suggestions, or is this a hopeless case?: Try using Resolve carpet cleaner. Resolve gets out the toughest stains.
