- if you can borrow another keyboard ,plug it and try again ,if it works ,that means your keyboards is broken.if it still doesn't work,scan your computer to find if there is a virus.If the result is nothing ,restore the computer to an earlier point. The worst is to reinstall the OS.

- Yes. You can also use PS/2 keyboard and mice if you use a PS/2 to USB converter (I do so on my green tower G3 and a graphite G4, though my machines are running PPC Gentoo Linux). If you're using OSX on it, when you plug in your keyboard, it should ask you to hit the keys next to the SHIFT keys, and then you're set. If you're using OS9 (or earlier), I don't know what will happen.

- Most likely not. An alternative is if you have a desk you type at a lot then get a full-size keyboard to use that you like.

- Assuming your laptop still works except for the keyboard, you can attach a USB keyboard to use. Generally, replacing a laptop keyboard is difficult, especially because you have to get the exact same keyboard to fit in the space on the laptop, dismantle the laptop and replace the keyboard. Some laptop manufacturers cover this kind of accident under their warranty. I would first consult that to see if you can have it repaired. If not, a USB keyboard would be the cheapest and easiest solution.

- Yes. There is a 'switch' on the main page to use computer keyboard. In fact a music keyboard would preferably be a midi controller as well. It can also be controlled by a Launchpad (like Novation). The clever thing about Live is that it can be mapped to many different controllers (Automap). It really depends what sort of music you want to make. Beats is pretty simple so the PC keyboard would be fine although I would think drum pads (velocity sensitive ) would be better.

- A keyboard is cheaper, but a piano would be better quality, provided you gat a good one. If you play one though you can play the other, so getting a keyboard with weighted keys would probably be best for you. They still feel like a proper piano and are mech easier to play than a crappy plastic keyboard. Although, if you can afford a piano would be better for what you want to play.
- Q:I am still not too sure, how much of a hassle is it going around without a keyboard? i am not interested in the touch version and i dont need 3G either.
- It really depends what you want to use it for. If you're only going to read, then no keyboard is fine - and cheaper too. However, if you plan to make notes and search things in the dictionary, the keyboard is absolutely necessary. Without it, you could potentially have to scroll through 25 letters to the one you want, and it's a pain in the backside. Personally, I prefer the one with the keyboard - the one I have. It's really useful, and so easy to use. Originally, I bought the one without the keyboard but within two days had it returned because it wasn't practical for my needs. - I'm not sure, but I am positive it has the virtual keyboard. The 5800 runs on the S60 5th edition and has the on screen keyboard, while the C6 runs on the same OS, and is on the latest firmware available, so it should have the on screen virtual keyboard too.
