- Q: What’s the difference between natural cooling and slice cooling?
- Cooling with furnace means after thermal insulation, stop heating furnace and make the parts in the furnace cool slowly to the room temperature with the furnace. Natural cooling is a kind of cooling method utilizing fluid circulation based on the fact that density varies with temperature to remove hea
- Q: Are aluminum coils easy to install?
- Aluminum coils, in general, prove to be easily installed. Their lightweight and flexibility contribute to their manageable handling and maneuverability during installation. They can be effortlessly cut and molded to suit the precise installation requirements. Moreover, they are frequently obtainable in pre-cut dimensions, further streamlining the installation procedure. Additionally, aluminum coils usually incorporate interlocking edges or snap-on connectors, facilitating the connection of multiple coils or other components. All in all, with appropriate tools and fundamental HVAC installation knowledge, aluminum coils can be readily installed.
- Q: Can aluminum coils be used for HVAC condenser coils?
- Indeed, HVAC condenser coils can utilize aluminum coils. In recent times, aluminum coils have gained significant popularity owing to their myriad benefits over conventional copper coils. With their lighter weight and enhanced durability, aluminum coils exhibit superior resistance to corrosion. Additionally, they boast exceptional heat transfer properties that enable efficient refrigerant cooling. Furthermore, aluminum coils prove to be more cost-effective and environmentally sustainable in comparison to copper coils. All in all, opting for aluminum coils for HVAC condenser coils is a viable and advantageous choice.
- Q: Are aluminum coils fire-resistant?
- Aluminum coils possess fire-resistant qualities due to their high melting point of 660 degrees Celsius (1220 degrees Fahrenheit) and their inability to burn, rendering them non-combustible. This specific characteristic allows for the utilization of aluminum coils in various applications, particularly in sectors where fire resistance is of utmost importance, such as building construction, electrical wiring, and HVAC systems. Moreover, the remarkable heat conductivity of aluminum facilitates rapid heat dissipation, thereby minimizing the risk of fire incidents. Nevertheless, it is crucial to acknowledge that although aluminum coils themselves exhibit fire-resistant properties, they may be incorporated into systems alongside other components that might not share the same level of fire resistance. Consequently, it is essential to consider the entirety of the system and adhere to proper fire safety regulations and guidelines to ensure comprehensive fire safety precautions.
- Q: A bit of a question for the 1911 experts roaming around here. Per-say someone, who knew their way around a 1911 built one on an aluminum frame. To top it all off, if the finished gun were to be chambered in .38 super... how long would this combination last? I've heard horror stories about aluminum frames, and then I've heard some wonderful things... this question was to see if anyone had ever thought about/done this sort of thing before. Something tells me that Aluminum + .38 super wouldn't last too long... Most informative answer gets the ten point prize as usual.
- I have two concerns about using an aluminum frame for that caliber. First, and like everyone else who answered, I don't think it will stand up to the .38 Super +P for very long (and I wouldn't want to be around when it fails). Second, the reason I believe the frame will not last nearly as long as a steel or stainless (my personal suggestion) frame is that the grooves the slide fits and rides in will wear and enlarge MUCH faster than a steel or stainless frame will. This will, in my opinion, also quickly have an adverse affect on accuracy. Aluminum has it's place, but I don't think it's anywhere near this kind of firearm. On a side note, one of the other people who answered said that the aluminum will offer some corrosion resistance. This may generally be true, but salt water (like sweat) attacks aluminum significantly faster than it does steel, and stainless steel is almost non-reactive to it. If he wants a lighter gun for carry, Try an XD45. If I remember right they are rated for .45 +P, but call Springfield Armory to make sure. With the polymer frame they are much lighter than a 1911, and I have been very satisfied with the accuracy and the reliability of mine. Personally, I don't think the weight savings of the alloy frame is worth the extra care to keep from sweating on it or the much shorter lifespan the gun will likely have. If he isn't planning on carrying it, what is the point of lightening the gun? He'll feel a lot more recoil, especially if he does shoot the +P ammo.
- Q: This question asks for methods to prevent rusting on aluminum coils during storage and transportation.
-
To prevent rusting on aluminum coils during storage and transportation, ensure that the coils are clean and dry before storage. Use a protective coating or wrapping to shield them from moisture and contaminants. Store the coils in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and corrosive substances. Avoid stacking them where they may come into contact with acidic materials. During transportation, secure the coils properly to prevent movement that could lead to scratches or damage. Use moisture-resistant covers to protect them from the elements. Regularly inspect the coils for signs of corrosion and address any issues promptly.

- Q: im doing an a level physics presentation on aluminium and im trying to compare aluminium and copper in electricity pylons.i know that copper will have a better conductance than aluminium becasue it has a lower resitivity but i need to come up with a calculation to prove why aluminium is better for use in electricity pylons? i know its down to aluminium being more lightweight than copper and also much cheaper. But im not sure how to create an calculation to show this?:) any help is greatly appreciated
- Copper has lower resistance per unit volume, ie, a 1 cm diameter copper wire has less resistance than a 1 cm aluminum wire. BUT, aluminum is much lighter than Cu for the same diameter. If you used an aluminum wire that weighs the same as the 1 cm diameter copper wire, it would have LOWER resistance. And that is why aluminum is used in power transmission, and also in aircraft, where weight is important. to do this you calculate density resistivity which is (resistivity x density). Here is a partial table: Al 28.2e-9 Ω-m * 2700 kg/m? = 76e-6 Ω-kg/m? Cu 17.2e-9 Ω-m * 8960 kg/m? = 154e-6 Ω-kg/m? Ag 15.9e-9 Ω-m * 10500 kg/m? = 167e-6 Ω-kg/m? Au 22.14e-9 Ω-m * 19300 kg/m? = 427e-6 Ω-kg/m? Zn 68e-9 Ω-m * 7130 kg/m? = 485-6 Ω-kg/m? Fe 100e-9 Ω-m * 7870 kg/m? = 787e-6 Ω-kg/m? Note that Al is half that of Cu.
- Q: This question asks for a comparison of the benefits and drawbacks of utilizing aluminum coils in food storage.
