Fiberglass Ceiling
The tiles are manufactured from high density fiberglass wool.The visible face has a decorative fiberglass tissue and the back of the tile is covered with normal tissue.The four edges of the tile are sealed and have grooves. - anytime you repair drywall you need tape i like fiberglass tape for repairs and durabond its harder and drys faster just make sure you get any lose off then patch it buy bedding the tape in the mud or drywall compond then let dry apply 2 more coats then sand prime and repaint use a bigger knife each coat to widen the coats and wipe it smooth not leaving a edge thats the sanding that will take place good luck

- Q:We recently purchased a condo with an unfinished walkout basement. Two walls above grade have fiberglass batts with a plastic vapor barrier. The ceiling has exposed fiberglass batts. We have no immediate plans to finish the basement, but I will have a washer and dryer down there. There is an electric blower to keep the pipes from freezing, but no other source of heat. I am concerned about exposure to the fiber from the ceiling batts and am wondering if there is any covering I can use to encapsulate the fiberglass, or would removal be the best option? - Q:My A\C and Heater have problems keeping up in Hot\cold weather. Its summer now (I live in the Stl area) and when its 90+ sunny my house will not get colder than 80 degrees A\C going non stop. The A\C is putting out anywhere from 59-62 degrees and from what I can tell is sized properly. In my ceiling is blown in insulation at about 4-5" sitting just above the 2x4s some places more some less. The vaulted ceiling being a little more at around 6" Is this enough? Is my problem the Heating\Cooling unit or is there not enough insulation?
