Q: China Cup ceramic cup and what's the difference?
The bone is bone porcelain, the porcelain with a large amount of ash as raw material, Guzhici high whiteness, but more than ordinary ceramic to crisp. Some bone china now has no use for ashes, but other phosphorus containing materials instead of ashes
Q: ceramic hair irons what they used to manage?
Hot tools ceramic flat iron is used to manage wavy and curly hair to be transformed into a shiny, smooth and straight hair. In choosing flat irons, makes sure that plates are ceramic which will help maintain a healthy hair. Also check the heating capacity of the hair iron. Higher temperature of the iron can give you smoother hair.
Q: HiI have some ceramic beads which were used as electric insulaters inside a vacuum coater and as a result are coated by some metals like Ti,.!I used HCl 36% and dipped them for a few hours in it but nothing happaened! any idea?!
Naturally, the reagents required will depend on what metal(s) are in the deposits. If the metal is titanium, as you suggest, then it will take something like a nitric-hydrofluoric acid mixture to do the job. Generally, the mixture would be on the order of concentrated nitric acid 2 parts, hydrofluoric acid 1 part, and water 1 part by volume. NOTE: Although nitric acid has its hazards, the hydrofluoric acid is an especially dangerous and insidious material. It causes severe burns that are not immediately painful and may not be apparent until hours later when it's too late to do much good for them. If you have it available, ammonium bifluoride is a somewhat safer and equally effective alternative to the hydrofluoric acid. Whatever you use, be sure you understand the dangers and use appropriate safety gear. Of course, there's the possibility that the fluorides will also etch your ceramics - it depends on what they are. Good luck with this project. Be sure to try small test samples before going large-scale.
Q: This is actually a material and manufacturing techniques question, but how do I attach ceramics to metal permanently, how does it come together and stay there? Is the ceramics heated up then poured or molded onto the metal piece and let cool? Any thoughts or speculations welcomed, thank you.
I would have to say that bonding the two materials would work best. One way is thermal spraying at high temperature as you suggest. Typically the metal base would be grit blasted to increase surface area for the spray to adhere. After spraying the ceramic coating the parts are introduced to a heat treat cycle to complete the bond. This bond becomes as permanent as possible. There is much more information on the web.
Q: why is ceramics useful?
There are many makes of tires that have sizes to fit your car, but I have found that it is best to stick with the brand of tire your car came with new. The reason being, the tires the Mfg. installs on the car are engineered for the best ride and noise abatement for that particular car.
Q: I bought black spots (spots) on the pottery. How can I get rid of this black spot?
It is iron oxide, drop in the firing cable caused, go away
Q: I want to change the ceramic tiles at the foyer of my old house (1975). Under the tiles, it is concrete subfloor with thickness of one and half inch. The contractor told me that I have to replace the concrete subfloor because the concrete is too soft, not real concrete. The concrete subfloor looks soft. I can easily break it with a hammer. My question is what is the name of this kind of concrete subfloor? Do I have to replace it?Thanks.
It is a softer form of cement but very well suited for ceramic tile. Standard depth ( in most cases) is 3/4 It will bust up easier than concrete but in most cases , if it was done right, you ll have your work cut out for you. These are called mud jobs in the tile world. Some do come out easy but most that I ve had to take out are a PIA and dusty mess. Use a small 3 or 5# sledge and a crow bar . Wear leather gloves because there will be a wire mesh lathe in it. A pair or time snips help to cut up the wire as you go. Any questions you can e mail me through my avatar and check my qualifications there. GL
Q: Should I use ceramic tile in a basement appartment?
you might lose back pressure (which you need some). So yea, get a smaller exhaust. the HKS Hi-Power Exhaust sounds really good on the Zs/Gs (idk what year yours is)
Q: what's the difference between them?
ceramic wont burn wet hair it should dry it! so get a ceramic iron!
Q: What is the big difference between ceramic plates and metal plates?I bought an flat Iron 2 years ago from Wal Mart for 10 dollars and it was metal. it takes 10 minutes to heat up and I can never get it the way I wanted, Today I bought a mini ISO flat iron from the mall and they said it was ceramic and it did heat up in 3 secounds. Besides that, are there any other differences?
Metal plates chip and lose their coating after a while. When that happens, it will snag, snap and tear ur hair out. Ceramic plates don't chip, heat faster and overall last longer. *remember to use a thermal spray to protect the ends of ur hair from heat damage*
