. The cans will always be sharp. It is possible sand or file aluminum, you will need a brush to clean the sandpaper on file. You could try folding edges to possibly remove some of the some of the sharpness.
Q: I am ultimately looking to have a bike that is good for both everday commuting and touring with panniers/racks long distance with camping. From what I've read on the internet steel frames are more forgiving and ride smoother. The guy at my local bike shop tells me aluminum frames have more flex and ride better. The two previous bikes lack brazeons for rack mounts up front, so they don't seem suitable for heavy, loaded touring expeditions. But, I don't see any models by Giant that have front rack brazeons. Actually, their forks all appear to be carbon/composite. I agree that the Co-Motion products look great, but their prices do seem a bit high for a welded frame, even if it is made in the US. The Surly LHT would make an extremely rugged, steel tourer. But building it up to your desired specs would likely put you way over your limit.
Q: Can you really block thermal imaging with glass or aluminum foil? If not, what can?
Well, silly! That keeps the space aliens from getting to them! Their brain sucking devices can't penetrate aluminum foil. Seriously, though, it's a redneck attempt to block the direct sun and keep the room from heating up.
Q: I am trying to find a BRUSH ON type glue to adhere aluminium foil to a plastic model. scotch super 77 works great but dries way to fast and blows small pieces all over. white glue just dont work and superglue eats the plastic. I could use some help
It seems very unlikely that any glue that requires evaporation of a substance (solvent, such as petroleum or other organic, water, etc.) is going to work gluing any but the smallest piece of foil to plastic (where it can cure from the foil edges). Neither the foil nor most plastics will allow evaporation from anywhere but the edges. A two part substance or an contact cement that you dry first before application would seem necessary.
