- Q: I need to clean a spot of urine from our oriental rug (from Dubai). It may have been a day old when I discovered it. I soaked up as much as I could with a paper towel but it has left a slight stain.
- The guy at the store where I bought my oriental rug said to lift up the rug and put a large bowl under it, and then wet it thoroughly with water with a little dish soap in it. If that's not enough to get the stain out, go to a pet store and ask for an enzyme cleaner. this stuff really works, but you have to keep it wet. Once it's clean and your rinse with clear water, blot out as much water as you can and let it dry. It's best to let air circulate underneath as well as on top.

- If it is white you could try to bleach it, or if it's colored you could try to use a bleach for colors. If all else fails you could always cover it with an area rug (a really big one or several).

They are much, much less expensive than standard rug fabrics and are beautiful. They come in all sizes. I picked up a 5x5 round for $99.00 from Frontgate. That is not possible in regular rugs.

- Lay paper towels on top of it and then using a hot iron heat the wax thru the towels as the wax melts blot it with the towels till clean
