- Yep, that looks like an S/PDIF audio cable. The other poster pretty much nailed the response so.....there ya have it. Its not necessary at all, its only if you want audio over the HDMI output which is good for connecting to a say a tv or surround sound reciever.
- Q:Whenever I unplug the power cable, the laptop starts to lag, bad, and yes I do have a fully charged battery. This has been happening ever since I got the thing, and no it has nothing to do with the battery, and no matter how many times I re-plug the cable and take it out again, or just leave it in, it continues to lag. - The welding cable has lower voltage (<40Volt) but a large current. The welding cable used to have lower insulation Resistance compared to the power cable. That is why it is not recommended to run the welding cable in same tray to the power cable

- Q:Our comcast HD cable box usually has the time and a little red light on front. Its blank and has no power. It is plugged into a power strip that also has the TV and stereo, yet those are working fine. We reset the power strip and still no power to the cable box.Any ideas? Please no rude remarks. Thanks.
- Cable boxes can die. I had two Comcast boxes, had an electrical storm and it knocked both of them out for good. Nothing else in the house failed. I called Comcast they sent out a tech with new boxes and that fixed it.

- You will need to look up the motherboard manufacturer to find the pinout for the cabling. That would be the fastest way. or you could use a small flat screw driver to short the pins until you find the right combo...the latter could result in damaging your mainboard but not likely. You will need to look at the original case plug if possible. HP/Compaq do not list the pinout nor is it written on the board. all it it listed as is HPanel1.

- As long as the cable has enough power for your laptop, same watts, volts etc. It's usually on some part of the power cable, and on the bottom of your laptop or on the battery.
- Q:power supply, however it comes with some cables that can be attached to the peripheral 4 point cable then ran into the card itself. can this setup work? Or will I need a new power supply with 2 6 point pci express power cables? Oh by the way its a 600 watt power supply I currently have.

- The buzzing noise is not that of a Laptop its rather that of the Power adapter of the Laptop so there is nothing to worry about it you laptop is as good as it can be. But i would suggest not to use that adapter for a longer time because it may cause trouble in voltage fluctuations .
