Q:Can plastic sheets be used for vacuum forming in the aerospace industry?
Yes, plastic sheets can be used for vacuum forming in the aerospace industry. Vacuum forming is a widely used manufacturing process in aerospace for creating lightweight and complex shapes. Plastic sheets, such as thermoplastics, are heated and then molded over a pattern or mold using vacuum pressure. These formed plastic parts can be used for various applications in the aerospace industry, including interior components, aircraft panels, and even some structural parts.
Q:I was wondering if it was possible to run a plastic binder cover (like the kind you use with a comb binding machine) through my printer? I'm not sure if the ink would even actually stick to it... or if it might even melt in my new printer? I have a new Kodak ESP3... so I don't want to mess it up! Anyone know? I know you can buy clear sheets made for the inkjet printers... but I didn't know if these were different... Thanks in advance.
the binder covers a to slick for the ink to stick to. the overhead clear plastic printable sheets are a bit thin for use as covers. There are Thermal plastic sheets that will take printing...ask some graphic engineer...they use it for overlays on plans.
Q:Can plastic sheets be used for agricultural purposes?
Yes, plastic sheets can be used for various agricultural purposes. They are commonly used as greenhouse covers to create a controlled environment for plant growth, protect crops from adverse weather conditions, and regulate temperature and humidity levels. Plastic sheets can also be used to cover fields to prevent weed growth, conserve moisture, and enhance plant growth. Additionally, they are utilized for mulching, creating tunnels for crop protection, and as lining material for water storage tanks or ponds in agricultural settings.
Q:Can plastic sheets be used for protective barriers in healthcare settings?
Yes, plastic sheets can be used as protective barriers in healthcare settings. They are often used as a physical barrier to prevent the spread of germs and protect healthcare workers and patients from potential infections. Plastic sheets are commonly used for creating partitions, dividers, or shields in areas like triage stations, patient rooms, or reception desks to provide an additional layer of protection.
Q:I have some pages of transparency sheets (for printing overhead transparencies on a standard inkjet or laser printer) that I want to glue to a Plaskolite board so that the glue won't show. Flexibility is not an issue, so it doesn't matter how stiff the dried product is, but it MUST be as clear-drying as possible, and if such a thing exists in an acid-free or archival form, that would be even better (but not necessary). Thanks!
Any clear drying adhesive should work but archival quality might be a real challenge. Apply the adhesive in a uniform layer covering the entire surface of the transparency.
Q:Should I spread plastic sheets and newspapers across the floor in case one of us has an accident?
A large inflatable kiddies' wading pool works best. But it's a cultural thing. Some people just prefer to throw a lot of sawdust on the floor.
Q:Are plastic sheets resistant to breakage from impact?
Yes, plastic sheets are generally resistant to breakage from impact.
Q:Are plastic sheets resistant to oil or grease?
Yes, plastic sheets are generally resistant to oil and grease.
Q:Are plastic sheets resistant to staining from food dyes?
Yes, plastic sheets are generally resistant to staining from food dyes.
Q:i want to melt some of my unused cd's to make a uniform plastic sheet. but i haven't succed, i tryed putting them in the stove but it was a total mess...any idea? i'm trying to reach the point of melting when the plastic is like liquid, to work with it easyer. thanks
Have you ever melted chocolate or crayons? It is the same process you need indirect heat you would need a bigger pot dirrectly on the stove with water in it and a smaller pot inside that with the plastic in it. It will probably take quite a while but this should work.
