- Q: Hi! I'm wondering where i can find a roll of really big plastic to cover carpet... I'll be moving into a small bachelor place soon but im also getting an untrained puppy... mistakes happen.. cleaning carpet is no fun... so im thinking i want to get a huge roll of plastic to cover the living room with. - c_kayak has the right idea. On both counts. Crate training is highly recommended by vets and dog trainers. It is a humane way to train your puppy and as long as it's never used for punishment the pup will learn to view it as his/her safe place. My dog is 10 y/o and still sleeps in his crate. By choice of course, the door was removed when he was 2. I don't mean to stray off topic but this is really the best idea. It would not be too hard for the puppy to accidentally get caught up in the plastic and suffocate.
