Q: 12 x 15 foot floor
Hi, 'W. Depends a lot on what the tile is applied to. If it's on thinset on concrete backer board, a day's work, if you can pry up sections at a time. If it's thinsetted directly to a concrete slab, then it's one or two tiles at a time, with thinset and some grout still stuck to the slab, so back over again to shave that off, maybe three days of messy, dusty work to get a clean floor - and watch out for sharp edges. Using a rental Bosch demolition hammer will get it done, coming in at a low angle. And gloves, eye protection, hearing protection, dust-control plastic sheeting, and covering HVAC vents. One of the next projects here will be peeling the tile off the kitchen floor, previously installed by the former owner directly on the plywood sub-floor, estimated removal time around two hours. They will actually pop loose with no effort on my part, so I'll just help them along. (Too much H&G TV?)
Q: I am gonna be a RA next semester. i am placed in all-boys floor. I need to figure out theme for the floor. Help me out!
My floor theme freshman year was really cool. Not an all guy floor but a good theme for guys. It was like double identity. For example you have two people in a room. One of their name tags on the door would be Clark Kent and the other Superman. Or Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. I'm a girl and mine was like Posh Spice and my Roommate Victoria Beckham. Just to give you some ideas. It was a cool theme...better than the average/boring movie poster floors. Good Luck!
Q: Our builder is suggesting radiant heat floors and I think though I'd like the warm floors; if we have a problem with it, we would have to tear up tile floors. Anybody had experience with this?
The only downside to radiant heat floors is you can't put down wood floors over it. They are fine as long as you are happy with carpet, tile, laminate or vinyl.
Q: Do you grout wall tiles or floor tiles first for a tile shower and floor in a bathroom?
walls then floor... would you wash a floor from the door to the furthest corner or from the furthest point back to the door?
Q: can you clean concrete basement floor with water and pine sol, with a mop ?Well i just bought a new house and i wanted to clean my basement floor with pin sol with a mop is that good for my basement floor or will it ruin it ?
You can use pinesol but a ph neutral cleaner like murphy's oil soap would be better.
Q: Lol in the tower under the A floor will give priority to attack the tower or people?
No matter where the floor A, the priority attack is the nearest enemy.
Q: my house has not been redone sincve my parent bought it (the 70's i think) i really want to rip up the floors and lay wood floors and was wondering how i would get the old flooring off first. someone told me use an iron to heat the glue any other ideas
You need to get a scraper and scrape it up. My husband uses a tool he calls a grub bar, its a long handle with a scraper on the end of it. He gets started at one end and works his way across the floor, ripping up the vinyl or tile. Using an iron to heat the glue could take a great amount of time, considering how big your floor area is.
Q: im trying to solve 16=floor((100*floor(.15*X))/86), but i dont exactly know how
The floor function maps a range of numbers into a single function. So there are infinitely many solutions. You could solve it as an inequality. 16=floor((100*floor(.15*X))/86) means 16 <= 100*floor(.15*X))/86 < 17 Rearrange those inequalities to isolate floor(.15*X). Then on each side you'll once again have a range of values for .15*X. Edit: 16*0.86 <= floor(.15*X) < 17*0.86 13.76 <= floor(.15*X) < 14.62 But because floor is an integer, that means that floor(15*X) has to be 14. It's possible I might have gotten a range of integers at this point. floor(.15*X) = 14 14 <= .15*X < 15
Q: So i want to make a mini dance studio/ gym in my garage. I am already getting floor mats for the gym equipment but flooring for my mini dance studio is too expensive. I was thinking, could I possibly use the same floor mats (which is regular shock absorbtion interlocking mats) but put some sort of vinyl tile flooring over the mats so I can turn and everything? Could this work? Has anyone tried this already?
A dance floor has to be sprung in order to reduce impact on jumps and reduce the risk of you getting hurt. The more modern floors have a basketweave pattern under the surface. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sprung_floor I don't know if the mats will work or not, I haven't heard of anyone doing this.
Q: Heyyy! I need help, I have been looking for cheap boards to build a deck and outside shed. Then I would need to find cheap place to buy a hardwood flooring or something similar, do ya know any web pages that deliver or any places around Memphis-Batesville- area??Thanks:)
as for boards to build a deck, Lowe's or home depot or if there is a local lumber yard they might work. as for hardwood flooring lumber liquidators has some great prices a lot better than Lowe's or home depot and they sell the ones like bellawood and the others that have long warranties. you can find them online to see if they have a store near you, or you can order directly from them.
