Maintainance guide:

Make sure that you regulaly clean the wood floors in order to prevent dust accumulation. We recommand to clean a small part

of stains as a testing ground to prevent too much chromatic aberration.

Dust and stain— use a hard brush dipped in warm soapy water to remove it.

Mildew— scrub with ordinary wood mode class agents, or bleach to rinse or wipe it directly.

Chalk stains—In addition to the while chalk, other colors can not be removed, you can use bleaching agent with hot soapy

water to wash it.

Ice or snow—Apply calcium chloride or rock salt, it can melt ice or snow, then use hot soapy water to wash it.

Stain soil and dirts— Apply detergent, which contains oxalic acid or phosphoric acid. Whiping the stain for 10-15 mins.

Greasy and oil-based stains—immediately use household cleaning products with hot soapy water to wash it.

Juice and wine stains—Mixed the bleach stain agent and hot soapy water to dilute the stain and wipe.

Q: What is a laminate flooring AC rating?: AC hardness ratings are a standardized measure adopted by The Association of European Producers of Laminate Flooring (ELPF) . The AC measure rates abrasion resistance, impact resistance, resistance to staining and cigarette burns, and thickness swelling along edges. If a laminate flooring cannot meet the requirements for each of these ratings, approval for a given AC rating will be denied. All laminate flooring distributed by BuildDirect has a minimum punishment class of 23 for residential use (heavy) and 31 for commercial use (moderate), or an AC3 rating.

Q: I dug up concrete floor to replace a section of corroded cast iron sewer pipe, and have a question about the floor repair. The ground is very wet clay, and the trench around the pipe is about 1 x 6 feet, 12 deep (3 below the pipe). First, should I leave the trench open for a while to dry out the clay? Second, should I just fill the whole trench with concrete - completely surrounding the pipe, or should I put some other fill in first and top it off with concrete?THANX!: i would buy a small amount of crusher run, put it in the hole in 4-5in. lifts compacted tightly up to the bottom of the concrete. then cover the crusher run with a plastic sheeting. now drill 1/2 holes around the base of the concrete slab about 10/12in. apart, insert re bar dowels into the existing concrete, finish the fest of the hole with a wire mesh. fill with concrete and finish to your liking.

It has a walk in basement which was added sometime after the original home was built- the uneven flooring is just upstairs, downstairs (the basement) seems fine. I don’t think the home inspector noticed the floors because he didn’t write it in the report. Are uneven floors something to really worry about?: The house is 83 years old, lets see how level you are at that age. My question is, is it the floor or is the wall leaning a bit? Have you checked? Even a new home will have things askew. Use a shim to put the book case flush against the wall. Home inspectors are not looking for slightly sloping floors but stuctural issues.

Like really cheap.Thanks!: how tall are these adults? generally speaking floor hockey sticks have an inexpensive wood shaft and plastic blade. even the better ones by Mylec or Koho will be about $15 new and in hockey you want a stick to reach your chin and so even in you're gonna be playing in shoes they are only good for people up to 5'10 or so. oh and as far as where to get them? Sports Authority or Craig's List .. with the size of sticks OKorder might initially be a better deal but when you factor in shipping it will cost you more that way.

If its a rock show & you want to avoid being pushed & shoved, then dont buy floor. Or if you dont want to stand the whole time. On the other hand floor is the best way to experience a show. I am going to remove the carpet from living room, hall way and bedrooms, and I was planning to tile, but that's not in my budget anytime soon, but i'm fed up with the carpet...ideas, suggestions?: So, you're looking for some hard work, huh? Tear up all of the tile and remove all of the adhesive. Now if this is ceramic tile, you'll really have fun removing all of that thinset mortar. If it's vinyl, it'll still be plenty of hard work with floor scrapers/grinders. All the old adhesive has to come up -- all of it! Then you'll have to start with the staining and polishing process, which costs $3 per foot on a new construction job in Texas. Smaller jobs cost a whole lot more. Good luck!

Q: How thick must the floor be over the joists? Does the thickness include the floor covering (tile)?: I'm not a contractor or am I familiar with anything regarding New York but I am familiar with floor installation. I do know however that floor covering be it tile carpet or whatever does not include the thickness of the floor. I would also imagine that most building codes for floor thickness, would be at least 1/2 inch plywood over the floor joist. Also with ceramic tile,it is not recommended that it is installed on only one layer of plywood over the joist.You need 2 sheets or installed over the existing wood plus a cement board

Q: We have wood laminate floors in our new kitchen, and I feel like they always look dirty. (I have two young boys, so really they ARE always dirty, but I'd like them to look clean at least when I first mop!!) No matter what I use, they always look dull. I have tried **** & Span, Murphy's Oil Soap, and some other things. All of them seem to leave a film. What is the best way to clean wood laminate flooring to make it shiny? Thanks!: I have never tried it but heard it works great. Put a small amount of liquid car wax into your mop water for the shinny floor result.
