Q:I want to remove the laminate flooring and put tile in what tools do I need to use and how do you get the glue off
If it is a floating type floor, which I suspect it is, your job is easy. Simply set the blade depth on your skill saw to the thickness of the flooring, (the padding underneath should keep your saw blade off the concrete), and whack it into manageable pieces. This might actually be fun. Try cutting patterns in the floor, like compass point stars, or whatever floats your boat!
Q:I just had laminate floors installed and I've read many dfferent answers on the best wat to maintain them. I need advice
Anything will work but don't flood the floor with water. The surface is sealed but the joints are not.
Q:If my floor slopes what is the possibility that there is foundation problems?
there is always the possibility of a foundation problem when you have sloping floors. however not always. my house for example, built in 1937. if we went down into the basement i could show you at least 10 reasons for my floor problems (everything from poor design and layout to bad craftsmanship) and none of them have anything to do with the foundation. the house next door i ripped all wiring and duct work sistered up every floor joyce and built one solid support beam to go from side to side instead of 2 seperate beams supported by ears protruding from top of chimney, rewired and ducted, floors are level and solid, gaps in hard wood tightened up( no squeeky floor boards) along with closed off stress cracks in plaster walls on 1st and 2nd floors, also closed the gap between the floor and base molding (3/4 gap in middle of room). hope all this info helps
Q:Please refer to the ceiling for the floor, or the floor, how does its ownership confirm?
Separate the adjacent part of the owner of the partition, beams, columns and floors, are adjacent to the owners of the total. Legal basis: "People's Republic of China Property Law" Experts recommend the development of property law supporting the law to avoid decoration disputes Separate walls, beams, columns and slabs of the exclusive part of the adjacent owners are part of the adjacent owners; ? 2 roof floors, floor flooring and The outer wall belongs to the inside side of the owner and other owners, the roof floor and the outer side of the external walls shared by all the owners, while other owners to use the pipeline, lines and other ancillary facilities, are related to the owners.
Q:What is the width of each piece of composite wood flooring?
Composite flooring is generally 125MM, large board is 165MM
Q:I am looking at installing a floating laminate floor in my house and would like any input on which type of flooring would be best since there are so many options. (ex: thickness, brand, COST, ease of installation, underlayment already attached vs laying underlayment, type of wood, etc...) I want the floor to look nice but I don't want to break the bank either. Any help and/or tips from someone who has installlation experience would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance
Mr. Obvious and Big Fella are right on. the only thin I would add is get your floors as flat/level as possible. Depending on the brand and type, most do not like bumps/dips greater that 1/8 over 8-10'. Have used both Pergo and Kronotex (30 yr with underlayment and 10 yr with UL separate) and liked the results I got with both of them (caught the kronotex on clearance for $0.33/sq ft). With a good vapor barrier @ the foundation, (always get a moisture test before you start) and a level floor only the person installing it can make it look bad.
Q:I have just purchased laminated flooring. It is called KR Inspiration Treehill Gunstock Oak. Does anyone have information about this type of flooring?
laminate flooring consists of a wood composite core. then it has a computer generated graphic applied over the wood core. then a melamine resin wear surface is added. if its a click board only two companies hold the patent to make the board and all companies buy from thees two companies. the price difference comes from the quality of the picture, the number of different pictures a run will contain, and the ac rating on a scale of 1 to 4. to install it you must let it sit in the room for 72 hrs. then you must leave an expansion joint around the whole room usually a quarter inch. all edges must be covered with molding or trim. door jams must be undercut. and you must use an underlayment foam. if you need more help feel free to contact me.
Q:I'm in Spain now... And what we call the "first floor", they call it "Floor Zero"!And OUR second floor, they call it first floor!Does it make sense to you?It actually does to me...Since underground one floor is -1And if our first floor is +1Then there is only one floor difference, but mathematically, the difference between -1 and +1 is actually 2!!!!So floor zero actually makes sense! What's your opinion?
Floor 1 is also sometimes called the Ground Floor. (The floor above is 2 and so on.) On many elevators they use G instead of a 1. Below the Ground Floor is the Basement. If there is more than one level below ground, they'll be called a different name which ordinarily describes their function, such as Storage Room, Boiler Room, Utility Room, Morgue, Laundry Room, etc. Mathematically, a Negative describes what does not exist. Apply this concept to a building and it's pretty bizarre. -1 Floor would be the floor which does not exist below the Ground Floor. -2 Floor would be the floor that doesn't exist two stories below the ground floor. Working on this logic, all buildings which do not use the basement-naming method, would have an infinite number of negative floors beneath them, that is, if the floors continued through the Earth's core and on out into space. Therefore, the use of Floor Zero is nominal, and could never be a mathematical construct, any more than the wor Ground Level can be a mathematical construct. My building (US) calls the street level floor Ground Level only, and it's never called the First Floor. The 1st Floor is therefore 2 stories above the street, and so on. If it were possible to think of the Basement as -1 Floor, which of course you can't because to think of it in this way would automatically cause it to not exist, but IF.......In the case of my building, the Basement (-1 Floor) actually IS 2 floors distant from the First Floor. MANY buildings within old cities have this naming style. Niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii... question and fun!
Q:I sometimes have a nightmare where I am trapped on a floor that keeps on tilting steeper and steeper, and I am falling and I can't hold onto anything to keep myself up. Can anyone interoperate this?
the floor represents your support if the floor is slanted then that means that you are moving to far from your goals. but since you say its getting steeper and your falling then it means that are struggling with an overwhelming problem. it also may mean that you have failed to achieve a goal
Q:I am having laminate floors installed on my 1st floor concrete slab. They keep testing the himidity. It has been to high. I have been running two dehumidifiers for 2 weeks, tore out my laminate floors.....What else can I do? Should I put a sealer on my floor? What kind- a waterproof or a water base????? HELP ME!!! THANKS!
Well if you didn't have to have laminate then I'd do tile floors.
