- Q: I have a container garden that I would like to improve somehow with some cool ideas. I cannot have a real garden because I live in an apartment.
- Cool, I love the colors!
- Q: We have a big garden, and we often have a few of the neighbours' cats wandering around in it at any one time. My kitten is 10 weeks old and he's had his shot for cat flu, but not for cat AIDS or leukaemia (gets those in a couple of weeks). Is he old enough to be introduced to the garden? And if so, would it be safer to wait until he's vaccinated against AIDS, or doesn't it matter- I can't see how a kitten could get AIDS, to be honest. The vet said there was a lot of cases in our area though. Also, my mum's worried that if we let him out in the garden, the older cats from the local neigbourhood might think he's invading their territory and attack him. Would they do that?I'd like him to be a mostly outdoor cat, as we have a lovely garden but a very small house (and he's trashing it :P) He's very strong and vivacious so I'm not worried about him being afraid of the grass or anything (like my dog is lol)Thanks for your help! :D
- I think it should be fine, although it would probably be wise to go out there with him for the first while. Also, if you know the plants you have in your garden, to check online as to which ones might be poisonous to cats. If you're in the clear there, it should be fine with shots just a couple of weeks away, especially if you're hanging out with him there anyways. Hope that helps!
- Q: So, my vegetable garden is finally dying because it's getting colder. I feel kind of sad because I didn't utilize it much. A lot of good crops went bad and were wasted. Also, I had a hard time keeping pests away and preventing my squash plants from rotting. Anyone have any tips to share that I can keep in mind for next year as far as utilization and pest/mildew control while keeping everything organic?
- make a tent and use some fertilizers for good crops
- Q: I need help I would like to sign up for a news letter to help with the daily grind of housework and tips to save time....I would like to sign up for home organizing tips from somewhere like HGTV

- Q: Almost summer in Alaska and I wanna garden this year.I'm new to it so what would grow well up here.?Websites are welcome. Thanks in advance.
- Plant what you like to eat!!!!
- Q: I am growing a erb, vegetable, and fruit garden and I keep finding catipillars eating my vegetables. I keep finding them in my cucumbers, egg plant, corn, and tomatoes. How can I make some home made bug killer?
- To Make Wormwood Tea: For now and until you purchase that book, you can hand pick the caterpillars and drop them into a bucket of soapy water. If you really want to make a home remedy, you can use one that is effective on caterpillars called Wormwood Tea. But please read the article in the web site source first. Wormwood Tea: 8 ounces wormwood leaves 4 pints of water 1 teaspoon castile soap Effective against: Aphids, caterpillars, flea beetles and moths. Putting dried sprigs of wormwood in the garden along side carrots and onions will mask their scent, confusing insects in particular the carrot rust fly. The dried wormwood will not have the growth inhibiting effects of the fresh herb. The Great Green Book of Garden Secrets by Jerry Baker has a slightly different recipe, but the one above is just as effective.
- Q: grown by people at homes in their patios or gardens?
- 1) In homes, patios or gardens people in Spain can grow many Citrus fruits like we do. Dwarf varieties that are protected from cold in winter. 2) Spain is the main E.U producer of tropical and subtropical fruit and the only country on the continent itself currently capable of growing them. As consolidated crops, Spain produces avocados (over 10,000 ha planted, yielding some 70,000 t/year), bananas (production restricted to the Canary Islands; around 9,500 ha, of which some 3,000 are under greenhouse, yielding 420,000 t/year), and cherimoyas (roughly 3,000 ha and 33,000 t/year). Mangos (almost 1,400 ha) and papaya (around 200 ha, practically all under greenhouse) show great potential for future development. Pineapple is steady at around 75 ha, both in open air and greenhouse plantations and, again, limited to the Canary Islands. Experimental plantings of litchi show good prospects. Minor crops under evaluation include carambola and guava. A review of the actual situation, problems and prospects, as well as the main lines of research, is highlighted in this paper.
- Q: Thank you!A best answer will be chosen!
- I know that my local library has tons of gardening books!
- Q: in home and garden, the recent answers are weeks old, and not there. they all say deleted or under review. you mean to tell me no one in 4 weeks hasposted a question in home and garden and they are all still under review?
- I think you might have your filter set to Fewest Answers, which makes you see those old questions (shouldn't be happening regardless but that feature is broken). Go to Home Garden and look for the gear icon on the right side of the purple bar. In that drop-down menu, choose No Best Answer or All, and then you should see questions that were posted today. That Fewest Answers thing only seems to show old questions that have been answered or under review instead of newer questions like we would like to see. EDIT: My setting just defaulted to Fewest Answers for some reason, so I think this may be your problem.
- Q: That some of the serious categories on Y!A have great bait for us PS regulars to play with? I was just in Home Gardens / Maintenance / Cleaning Laundry section and founds some real winners. Go check 'em out!
