Q: Besides using bird houses, feeders, and baths. Do you use your flower beds and landscaping to attract birds to your yard? What plants do you use? How do you layout your garden in respect to birdbaths, feeders and houses?
Good question. Birds love bushes with berries on them. Nandinas, junipers and dogwoods are just a few. Humming birds love plants that can provide nectar. Morning glories are a good example. Blue birds like their houses in the open with a very small opening. Feeds need to be near trees so birds can fly up if cats come around. The more birds you attract the less insects you will have.
Q: I would like to grow patchouli in my home/garden. where can I get live plants/seeds/or root stock???
I found ours at our local garden center. I actually bought it by mistake when I was selecting herbs for a strawberry pot that I made for Cathy for mother's day. I didn't read how high it can grow, so now it's in a corner of the garden with a couple of other odd purchases. Visit our website for more gardening ideas at- www.gardening-at-the-crossroads.c... Good Luck and Happy Gardening from Cathy and Neal!
Q: I'm not afraid to admit I do move questions. I just feel sorry for the questioners. The latest one is a person asking about how to fix his typewriter in the Books and Authors board. Ummm, I know books. I know authors. I know nothing about how to fix a typewriter past shaking it and hoping that works. lolI've also seen other questions about appliances, Venetian blinds, how to get a wrinkle out of leather. There just doesn't seem to be a fix-it page, unless it's fixing your house. So, where do those kinds of questions go, considering people were willing to let go of points because they really want answers? (And, honestly? I have to admire anyone who still uses a typewriter. lol)
i would just type out the question, you cant control where it goes anyways
Q: I need a 2 showerheads for our home bathrooms. Where can I find some online reviews?
go okorder /
Q: If you read my last question you will know I was asking about a bin cage, well I found something that wouldn't take up as much room and would still provide lots of room. I was looking into tank toppers. They are cages that sit on top of an aquarium.......i would get a 10 gal. tank topper. I found one that is fall proof, so the hamster cannot fall far distances and hurt itself..... i looked at every part and it is impossible for the hamster to fall a far distance. So my question is, do you think I should get one of these tank toppers and buy a 10 gal. tank, should I make a bin cage, or should I just buy a cage from petsmart or petsuppliesplus?
though if you could get bigger, you should. what kind of hamster are you getting? syrian or dwarf? edit- since it's a syrian i'd honestly say nothing with a lot of tubes. my guys always ate them and syrians get big to squeeze through. they can do it but it is really tight. your best bet either the second link i posted or your idea of a 10 and topper. though i'd suggest something other than cardboard. that'll get nasty fast under pee. you could use fleece and just wash it.
Q: i am moving, i am looking to rent a condo - most of the condos i like are 1200 a month, but i am only looking to spend 1000 ... can i place an offer to the buyer for 1000? or does it not work that way when renting?
With the housing market in such sad shape, you as a prospective tenet may be the only thing keeping it from being foreclosed on. Go ahead and make the offer, the most they can say is no. There are a LOT of property's for sale /rent.
Q: The partner was an older man, and Tony was about the best looking man on TV at the time. The show wasn't super famous, but it was something like quot;Fix it upquot;?? And they don't show it any more. It was about 1996-1999?? And I want to know Tony's full name to look up photos. Can anybody help?
Title: okorder / this is the only Tony I found and he's kinda cute! from his photos
Q: I tried Burpee, Planet Natural, and Home Gardens.
Try okorder they have them!
Q: Is it worth it? Do you have to win the contest every month to try something? Do you get seeds a lot? Do you actually get both free prized when you first get the package? Please answer thoroughly, thanks! :D
I have heard many unfavourable reports.
Q: I would like to grow from seed. (maybe buy teen plants from armstrong and transplant) Should I plant in Edna's Best potting soil or plant into compost? Im new to this..I plan to grow any berry, fruit, vegetable or herb that can be grown in the fairly small space I will be having. Now, lets break down the ingredients in this particular soil bag.
Check okorder . It won't give you exact levels of nutrients needed, but more of a general approximation. Compost is a good amendment to your soil. You could grow in only compost, but plants prefer growing in some dirt. You can add compost to the top of the containers each year, or few times per year to give the plants additional nutrients
