- Q:How can I fix a vacuum that will not turn off. I vacuumed up a piece of clothing and pulled it out of the bottom, ever since the only way to turn the vacuum off is via the plug. Any suggestions?
- The on/off switch is probably shot. You'd have to open the casing and replace the switch. You'll need a soldering iron and some basic soldering skills... the easy way is to unplug the vacuum and be thankful the switch failed in the on position rather than off.
- Q:Are the kirby vacuum cleaners really a quot;good investment. My husband let these people in our house who were quot;promoting a new store were offering a free floor cleaning demoquot;...FREESkipping to the point..I was lied to and pressure into buying a $2000 vacuum cleaner. I called to cancel but they keep sending people to my house to convince me it's a quot;good investmentshould I keep it or tell them to f* off call the cops next time they come to harrass me? I felt bad because they were here for so long but I can't afford this quot;investmentquot;. They made me feel guilty saying I spend more a month on my cell each month but afterall it's still $2000 for a vacuum
- We bought a used 'ninety 4 Kirby in 1996. We paid $4 hundred. for it. i admire the effective suction, in spite of the undeniable fact that it additionally comes with drawbacks. right here are my evaluations approximately this Kirby: a million. i do no longer in common terms like the cost of changing the filters (they're approximately $8. a bag and in common terms have 3 bags in a kit. 2. this is not consumer-friendly to alter from vacuum to using the hose. 3. this is variety of heavy and cumbersome and does not maneuver definitely. in my opinion, this is not fairly worth it. you ought to purchase a bagless Dyson for around $500. and that they paintings super. Does the $1800. cost comprise all the attachments? do you elect all those attachments? Are all the bells whistles fairly worth $1800.?
- Q:What's the difference between regular vacuum cleaners and water vacuum cleaners?
- Question: What's the Difference Between a Vacuum and Carpet Steamer or Cleaner (If that's what you mean by water vacuums) Although some carpet steamers and cleaners do have a suction mechanism to remove the cleaning fluid and water from your carpet after cleaning the area, they should only be used for steaming or cleaning a carpet and never used as a vacuum cleaner. Answer: The term 'carpet cleaner' or shampooer used to relate to types of carpet cleaning appliances which did not have a water tank and cleaned using a cleaner in conjunction with brush action. The cleaning fluid actually stayed in the carpet to protect the fibers and was not removed, nor was any water applied. Today, the term generally means any appliance that is used to clean a carpet and carpet cleaners have changed considerably in the last few years. Today, most carpet cleaners are in fact steamers. Along with a liquid cleaning solution, hot water or steam is applied to the carpet. Brushes rotate to help lift the rug fibers and the water and solution is then extracted into a waste water reservoir that must be emptied. This allows carpets to be deep-cleaned and the water is then vacuumed by the same machine, allowing it to dry rather quickly.
- Q:I have a two piece standard Kenmore vacuum (not an upright vacuum but one of those that the hose attaches to the body). Anyways, I was vacuuming and then all of a sudden the roller quit spinning. I thought maybe some string or some other obstruction was preventing the roller from spinning or perhaps the belt broke. But I took everything apart and found out the motor doesn't spin. I can't even spin it manually. If I remember right shouldn't the motor be able to spin freely? My motor is stuck and won't spin and I can't find any obstruction preventing it from spinning.Any thoughts? And secondly, can you clarify if the motor should spin freely when the vacuum is turned off because I could have sworn that in the past if anything got wrapped around the roller (like string) I could easily unwind it.

- Q:vacuum cleanerspetrolbakeriesmmmmm
- Walking by a laundromat, ahhhhhhhhhhhh, the dryers section especially.
- Q:Should I spend a lot and expect it to last for years, or should I spend a little and expect to replace it next year. What brand and model should I buy. Please help!
- Consumer Reports does an excellent job of reviewing vacuums. For this purchase alone it is worth the online subscription price. No one vacuum is best for all persons. It depends on your floors (carpet or hard surface) the predominate dirt you will be dealing with (pet hair vs. heavy) your willingsness to work with a heavy machine, whether you have one or two machines (floor vs. steps and furniture) etc. From my personal experience, the right vacuum for you is wonderful and should last for years. The wrong one will make you crazy and you will want to throw it out the window.
- Q:My dog sheds very very bad. The vacuum cleaner I have does a terrible job. If course I would like to have the best for the lowest price. I know Dyson has their pet versions of all of the vacuum cleaners but I am trying to avoid spending $500-$600. Any Ideas?
- The best I've heard for cleaning with suction and the features that it has is the Kirby (spelling?) but they are indeed out of affordability for many including myself. For that range of money I'd simply get something that was simple and bear with it, because anything less than the expensive ones will likely either break down and have to be replaced after a couple years, or else won't have enough suction to be worth the cost. I tried the Kirby when I applied for salesman there, but did terrible at social skills and quit with the pressure. I don't have experience much with other vacuum cleaners, but their staff told us to demonstrate by using the other vacuum cleaners that the person in the home had for like 5 to 10 minutes on a spot, then to have the Kirby run over the same spot and pick up a pad's worth of dirt in a sweep or two with it's powerful suction.
- Q:what are the best brands of upright vacuum cleaners?
- A kirby? I've never even heard of that. Well, if you want a great vacuum cleaner, you gotta go with a Dyson, the only catch being those things are OUTREGEOUS! I think the cheapest one is about $500. Other than that, I've got a Bissell right now that works fantastically. And it was only about $60 at Wal-Mart. It's one of those bagless vacuums, with the filters. You don't have to replace any of the filters either, they're all washable in the sink. So, pretty cheap and convenient.
- Q:i tend to want a cannister because it easier to get underneath beds, tables, sofa......gimme brands and models if you can,,,XOXOXO
- Get a Dyson. They rock! (well - as far as vacuum cleaners can rock, anyway...)
- Q:how many watts does a vacuum normally use?
- If you mean a vacuum cleaner, it depends on model and manufacturer. I would doubt that most domestic ones use more than 750 watts, though. But there should be a nameplate with that information on it. Now, industrial vacuum cleaners can be a bit bigger and use more power - like hundreds of horsepower.
