- Q: Home decoration generally use the floor how much money a square meter
- The floor is divided into high-middle and low, the general mid-range about 100 square meters. Tiles are cheaper
- Q: I'd like to buy a non-wool floor cover that's heat insulating and soft on barefoot (ie not seagrass). Any suggestions?
- Go for cork tiles. They meet all of your criteria.
- Q: My dog urinated on our laminate wood floors and how the floor seems to have lifted, almost like air bubbles along the seams of the flooring. It looks horrible and I feel like these floors should be resistant to water and other liquids. Can anyone help?
- Laminate flooring is the most overrated stuff on the market...no one tells you about how it warps with water, it is not nearly as scratch resistant as you are led to believe, and no matter who says what, it does NOT look real. Your floor is lost, sorry, but the liquid will just keep traveling and more and more of the floor will lift.
- Q: I have 3 rooms with shinny floors. I use swifter wet every day and i mop using fuller floor shine once a week. My floors don't shine like it should. What can i use to get my floors to look shinny.
- I had a vinyl floor that had a dull film built up from wax. First I warn you, use a mask and open doors and windows if you do what I did. I mixed double the recommended sudsy ammonia to water and mopped. It dissolved the build up and I was left with a clean but not shiny floor. Next I used Armstrong floor cleaner and I was delighted with the shine. It looked like new. I will never use another floor cleaner because it does not build up.
- Q: I purchased 6mm laminate floors for my home and I'm on a budget, can I use poly sheet vapor barrier and felt underlayment over my concrete floors or do I not even need both?
- Boo, you don't want to use felt paper. The vapor barrier that is sold at flooring stores comes in different grade levels. The lowest grade (or thickness) runs about .27 cents per square foot. These products are specifically designed for this application and they are the best products to use. When you say poly sheet vapor barrier are you talking of just about regular poly (ie:plastic)? If you are forget that idea. Moisture will get trapped under the floor and eventually ruin it from the bottom up. Like most people that are budgeted on projects, you want to save where you can. This is not one of them.
- Q: Is dance flooring that plastic floor stuff, linoleum??Is it the same thing, or something else?Because I want to buy some cheap floor that is suitable for dancing on, maybe even the same as the ones they have in dance studios.Do you know:a) What dance floor is?b) Can you buy it cheap?c) Is there any flooring similar?d) Where can you buy them from?Thank you xx
- My girlfriend and I do ballroom dancing. The best floorings we have danced on are clean and recently waxed wood flooring and marble. Most dance studios I visited before signing up for lessons for us had parquet wood floors for their dance floors. Likewise for most halls that were rented for weddings we've attended. The marble floor of one hall was really nice to dance on as well, but the cost may be prohibitive since marble isn't cheap. The thing about clean and waxed wood floors is that it allows the women's feet to pivot for turns-- it is neither too slippery nor too sticky. Parquet floors, in my humble opinion, are not pretty. However they are only slightly more expensive than a good linoleum floor where I am at and you can make the dance floor any size you like easily since they are a floating floor. I have never had the opportunity to dance on linoleum, but if I think back I remember them being more sticky than I would prefer. If the floor is too sticky then it can put too much torsion on the girls ankle which is the case when you have a dirty unwaxed wood floor as well. I think the linoleum in all the kitchens I've ever been in were to 'soft' and gave too much traction. We did dance on the cheap, hard vinyl composition you see in schools, hospitals, and department stores once. It was okay-- good even. I can see that commercial stuff being usable-- and it is ultracheap.
- Q: The bathroom is about 6inches off from one end of the floor to the other. And that is a 4ft span. The tub is at the level end which is the lowest part of the floor. We want to leave the tub and build up the floor around it. What is the best and fastest way to do that ourselves? Our kitchen is also unlevel. The floor slants to one corner. It may be about 3 inches off level. We need to level out both floors, but have no idea how.
- wow really? 6 over 4'? that's a LOT! well there's a few things you can do the 1st and probably best starts below the floor. you'll need a jack post with screw assembly maybe 2 and a 2x4 or something that'll mount to the plate on top. floor unlevelness is usually caused by sinking (which usually is because something supportive was removed) if this is the case then go down below and crank it up like a spiral automotive jack the jack posts will move the floor up you then need to put a 4x4, beam spanning to support walls or a new support wall. jack it up till it's level measure and cut 4x4 or wall or w/e and put it in place. your favorite lumberyard should be able to help you out with beam rating if you decide to go that route. the other way to do this is really just a patch you'd need to get some plywood and patch in several layers in pieces till it's up to about where you need to be floor sand each time then cover with floor leveler compound before flooring back over it. again that's just a patch and if it sinks further then it'll need to be repaired again. this MIGHT be a pretty big task for a diy'er but if you want further instruction don't be afraid to ask someone at a small lumberyard. (not a box they're usually just college kids who don't know anything you can try but i wouldn't recommend it)
- Q: i don't understand what to do if a formula has the word floor in it. What do I put there?
- The term floor usually means the same thing as minimum. If it makes sense in the context of what you are doing.
- Q: It is estimated that the cost of constructing an office building that is n floors high isC(n)= 3n^2+500n+842thousand dollars. How many floors should the building have in order to minimize the average cost per floor? (Remember, your answer must be a whole number.) ______ floors
- If the cost per floor is C(n) = 3n^2 + 500n + 842 then the average cost per floor would be this function divided by the number of floors n: A(n) = (3n^2 + 500n + 842)/n A(n) = 3n + 500 + 842/n This is the function we want to minimize, so take it's derivative: A'(n) = 3 + 0 + -842/n^2 To find possible max/min values, set the derivative equal to zero: 0 = 3 - 842/n^2 842/n^2 = 3 842 = 3n^2 n^2 = 842/3 n = sqrt(842/3) = 16.753 Since we can only have whole number answers, our answer must be either 16 or 17 A(16) = 600.625 A(17) = 600.5294 So our answer will be 17 floors
- Q: I have recently moved into this house with my fiance, and our children. Well, it does not have linoleum or anything like that on the kitchen floor. The base floor, I guess you would call it... is disgusting. Black. I was wondering if it would be a mistake to mop it, or if I should get a sponge and elbow grease.?I'm going to test a small part, before doing anything, I suppose that would be my best bet. But what would I clean this with?I guess I'm just afraid the dirt will get gunky and build up more.Children are under the age of 4. And, you have to go through the kitchen in order to get to the Bathroom, I'm thinking of having them go to their Nana's for an evening and doing it?Any advise would be greatly appreciated! :)
- Not sure what you mean by base floor, is it wood or concrete or chipboard. You would have to be careful if it is chipboard or wood as soaking it could make it warp or shrink if it gets to wet. Trying a small area first is a good idea, then take it from there. A bucket of warm soapy solution and a deck scrubber if you have one preferably with a long handle or you will have to go down on your hands and knees, then rinse with luke warm water and a mop. Do small area at a time. Leave to dry thoroughly and see how it has turned out, may have to be done a few times to get the result you want. Hope this helps.
