- Q: Can YOUHOOS at Yahoos give me an idea where I can find a sheetof heavy clear/ or even transparent plastic to put over my window thatnot like this cheap garbage I used from Frost King at home depot.. The last stuff came from a roll and was heavy duty and I don't need a roll of it, I'm just drawing a blank here. And this boxed up stuff sold in cheap discount stores really is garbage 1 mil junk.. Oh, and yes, this is their outdoor stuff , not the shrink indoor kit.... The window is about 4 ft x 6 ft..... 1950 era.....(hence the need for plastic ). I've got a few smaller as well... - Try Ace Hardware. They use to sell clear heavy vinyl plastic on a roll that they would cut to the amount you need. Hope this helps.
- Q: I just had my 30 yr old storm windows replaced with nice double pain, double glazed, argon filled windows in November. HUGE IMPROVEMENT! But now that i am used to comfort level and energy savings that these windows have made to my home. I find myself looking for the tiny amounts of cool air that penetrates into my home. And I still have this habit of wanting to put plastic over my windows. Do you think adding the plastic now would be overkill? Or would the energy savings still out way the cost of the plastic this first week on January?

- Q: Hello all, for several years I have been having to buy replacement Jeep soft top (plastic) windows to replace the scratched ones. The last couple of times I have been fairly careful in not scratching them but I have noticed that even without scratches there seems to be some type of buildup that prevents it from looking clear and shinny as when they are new. I have tried using all sorts of soft soaps and even dish washing soap thinking it would take the build up off. Well, not luck. Here is my question, does anyone know of a product that they have actually used to keep Jeep soft top windows looking shiny and clear? Thanks,
- i think of the plastic residing house windows suck particular you may desire to purchase new doors for it that have residing house windows that are glass. you may desire to look in a junkyard for a good cost. playstation I actually have a ninety seven Jeep Wrangler with glass residing house windows it is a sturdy motor vehicle my 4cyl gets like 18-19 mpg especially situations even 20 and its a beast offroad. heavily it does whats its suppost to off street.

- Those envelops are so frustrating! I separate the plastic from the paper...either cut it out with scissors if ripping it out is too 'messy'. Recycle the envelope and unfortunately add the plastic to the garbage bin. That's what I do anyways. Hope that helps.

- I have the same problem, they make a product that is a shrink wrap for windows, you put it up and hit it with a hair dryer and it shrinks to fit with no tape or tape marks later. You can find this stuff and Lowes Home Depot or your local hardware store. We use it every year in hour house and rentals Also it is totally transparent, you won't even notice

- It doesn't go on the windows. It goes on the window trim or on the wall. Any dirt or grit will cause it to fall down, and you have to really press to make sure it is on well.

- Unfortunately the film can not be applied without close access to the inside or outside of the window. You or whoever applies it needs an extension ladder if it's above 16 ft. Taller ladders or what you need can be rented for a whole or half day at any rental store. Be very careful, falling from above 6 ft can be very traumatic and even deadly. If your not comfortable with heights you should seek out a handyman or a window tinting company and get a quote. If your injured, whatever they charge will appear cheep. Remember if you pay to have it done you won't have to rent a latter or buy the film. Whatever your charged to rent a latter and buy the film may be a good part of a tinting job by someone who does that and has what you want. Factor that in before you do it yourself. Good luck. SS
- Q: Can you use glass chalk on jeep windows (the plastic ones)?
- I am not sure if it would actually stick to the window or not but I would not advise using it even if it will work. Jeep plastic windows scratch very easily so it would probably damage the windows.
