- Well if you don't want to keep them you can look up organizations that wish to use them for a project. There are a lot for Japan, one that was organized recently for the tsunami was accepting cranes for a fundraiser (every crane sent in earned a certain amount of money with the finished collection being placed in an art museum). I know some hospitals accept cranes for the children's ward, that is what my class did in elementary school we made 1000 and the hospital used them as decorations for the Christmas tree. Then there are individual projects that people start online with which they are accepting cranes to fulfill the one thousand mark for people they know who are sick etc. (relates to the story behind the 1000 paper cranes practice). - Your baby crane might have stepped on something, But this is nothing like malnutrition, From what ive learned the crane may have a joint dysfunction in the knee but this very common in cranes, I really think you should take an X-ray of the cranes legs because,(and the baby cranes feet will expand over time) This could get worse. This is more than likely a leg dysfunction. Hope this helps.

- I would think it's wind-related. If they were all pointed differently, one would catch more wind and spin more. If they were close enough, this one may hit another. If they were all pointed the same, this would be less likely (although not guaranteed). They SHOULD be spaced apart sufficiently, though, so during operations there is no chance of hitting another. So, it's more likely because of something on the ground. Maybe at last drop off they were all pointing in the same direction?
