Q: Between these two authors, I dont see any similarities in literary style, specifically focusing on The Moon is Down and The Red Badge of Courage. Maybe observing from a different point of view (yours) could help me.Also, if there is no significant similarity, do similarities exist in setting, conflict, or characters instead? Thanks!
Try Maggie: A girl of the streets, which is the novel I think of for Crane being part of the Realist school. I think you can also see Steinbeck, in his selection of subjects as being in that same school of fiction. So less for their style and more for their choice of subjects.
Q: Do they have to be taken apart... if so, how are they taken apart... by another crane? - but how did that one get there etc etc
Big cranes do have to be disassembled into truck sized pieces for transport, and then reassembled on site. Usually, this is done by smaller cranes, which are mobile. Sometimes a big crane can be assembled on the ground with small cranes, and then lift itself into the air. Sometimes smaller cranes are assembled by bigger cranes on the site. Some of the biggest cranes are tower cranes, which sit on tob of a skinny tower and rotate around. These are assembled on the ground and then lift themselves into the air by building the tower under themselves. Look at the attached link to see how this is done.
Q: the way u find them climbing with the building makes me wonder how they become this long and what is the mechanism for that
The crane isn't growing. The cranes lift themselves up to the current top floor, build up around them, and repeat as necessary until they reach the top. The tallest cranes in the world are nowhere near as tall as the tallest skyscrapers - so the only mechanism to build very tall structures is to keep the cranes at the top of the building as it rises.
Q: I would like to buy KATO crane and I have its serial number. I wonder how I can check with serial number if the crane is Originally Made in Japan! Which site should I go for checking? It will be great help if you answer my question.
I Googled KATO cranes and found several sites. Im sure there is one that can lead you to contact information w/ the company. I happen to be a self proclaimed BEST hyd. crane operator in the states. having logged several years experience. IF you need an operator for hyd. or static line. achd73 at yahoo TonytheTiger
Q: What should i do to solve tower crane collapse?
i couldn't figure it out either. try the castle catapult instead.
Q: What are the safety devices for the horizontal arm self lifting tower cranes?
(3) the amplitude limiting device shall be equipped with a minimum amplitude limiter and a device for preventing the boom of the boom from rebounding after the luffing of the jib. The trolley must be equipped with a trolley switch and a terminal buffer. (4) rail clamping device and walking limit device; track type tower crane must be equipped with rail clamping device. A walking limit device shall be installed at the same time. (5) a crane with wind point at the root of the boom with a height of more than 50m shall be equipped with an anemometer at the top.
Q: I know that an ancient Japanese legend promises that anyone who folds a thousand origami cranes will be granted a wish by a crane, such as long life or recovery from illness or injury. This summation, or something like it comes up in every search I do for the legend. Is there a full story that goes with the original legend? If so I would very much like to read it. Wikipedia doesn't have it. Also, while Sadako's story is very touching, it is not the one I'm looking for.
It okorder / I'll keep looking and see if I can find out an origin and add a bit more later.
Q: I have got a ton of Mosquito Hawks in my house. Should I just let them be or will the problem get worse? Plus I read they dont bite humans but will the bite rabbits? I have 2 house rabbits that I am concerned about.
Mosquito Hawk
