- Q: On the wing chun T-shirts they got i print of a crane and a snake what do they mean and the yin and yang?
- Wing Chun was developed from the five Shaolin animal styles, tiger, snake, crane, panther and monkey. The popular (incorrect) belief is that the style contains more of the crane and snake styles than of the other animal styles, hence why it is sometimes referred to as a crane and snake style. The crane, in the Shaolin system, is evasive, protective and gentle, using flowing techniques that redirect the attacker's energy, rather than fighting strength with strength. The snake is a very fast, straightforward style, protecting the centreline and attacking along straight lines with quick thrusting finger attacks. These two principals are, admittedly, very prominent in Wing Chun's use of the centre and central lines, the use of chisao (feeling) in techniques, and the use of straight, stretching techniques like the finger-strikes. (The bit that some people don't realise is that Wing Chun contains elements of all 5 styles, including tiger, panther and monkey, as well as some elements from non-Shaolin styles, such as elements of tai chi, shuai jiao (Chinese wrestling), dim mak (pressure point striking), chin na (joint manipulation) and others.) The yin-yang symbol comes from Taoism, and represents the equality of opposites, such as night and day, sun and moon, hard and gentle, forward and backward. Wing Chun, and indeed all Chinese martial arts, contain Taoist philosophies and strategies that can be explained by the use of this symbol.
- Q: Tower crane 5610 why is it called QTZ63?
- Q is reusable, T is tower, Z is jack up, and combined is jack up tower crane. (this is the earliest known China, now the various manufacturers have their own name, some close to the French take, such as F0/23B, the tower jib 50 meters, a maximum weight of 10 tons, 2.3 tons of weight lifting arm tip)80 is the moment, the unit is t * m, (should say is the force multiplied by distance, 800kn.m) for 5613 cranes, the maximum lifting capacity of 8 tons, the boom length is 56 meters, arm tip lifting weight 1.3 tons, maximum weight in the range of 2.5 meters ---13 meters, calculation of 8 * 13=104, so the name is QTZ104, now the provisions should be a QTZ104, but before, people think is 8 tons of weight, so called QTZ80, is now available.
- Q: my yard is infested with crane flies. Help please.
- It's impossible to think of an insect more harmless than a crane fly. Enjoy them.
- Q: I've always wondered, how do they lift cranes? Bigger cranes? What do you think/know?
- Most cranes use hydraulic lift. But lets say they are building a sky scraper the size of the dubai tower. They set a hydraulic lift crane to a certain point and lift components for another crane up. They then use that crane based at ground level to lift up parts. the other crane is based in the elevator shaft and they can set that crane up as high as they need.
- Q: Cranes nowadays are MASSIVE! but something that has been bugging me for ages is how do they get the massive crane bit at the top down once they have finished constructing the skyscraper/building?
- i hope this link helps
- Q: It is a single blade knife very similar to a case sodbuster
- Sounds of the Asian descent,
- Q: Can paper crane symbolise your love for a girl?
- In the 1940's a girl named Sadako got leukemia from the atomic bomb that was dropped on Japan and she folded 1000 paper cranes to get a wish.... It has since become an international symbol of peace and the legend that it can grant a wish if 1000 are folded is still around.
- Q: i know there is a lot of styles in the crane and the praying mantis and ba gua. then what types are there? and what is the most powerful one??
- Well... you seem to have two questions in here. First of all, the crane and praying mantis are both stances used in internal (Weija) and external (Neija) Wing-Chun (Kung-fu). Second, Bagua is one of the internal styles. External styles are more powerful for fighting styles.
- Q: I am kinda really sick of paper cranes, and I was wondering if there's any good method of making paper birds that look, well, like birds. I checked out the one website with instructions, but, well, look at it. I tried it.
- I haven't made the other birds on this site but they have a pelican and an owl. I think the pelican looks a bit crane-ish but it may look different in reality. Have fun!
- Q: What is the fundamental differences between Goju-ryu Karate and Fujian White Crane?
- Actually the fundamental difference between all styles of Karate and all styles of kung fu is that Karate emphasizes linear striking techniques and kung fu emphasizes circular striking techniques. All Japanese influenced 'atemi' (striking) styles are linear. That is one way to identify the lineage of an Asian martial art, if the punches and kicks are thrown straight.
