- Q: Can you eat those suckers ?
- I live in Alaska - Sand Hill Cranes are a traditonal food for the natives going back to the dawn of man. Alaska is broken up into 30 or so Game Units, each about the size of Conn. Depending on which one you live in determins if you can hunt the cranes or not. Rule of thumb when trying to figure out what something is going to taste like (I am a survival instructor) - things always taste like what they eat. Good example - Spruce Grouse and Ptarmigan - eat spruce needles and this give them dark red meat that tastes like it's been marinated in a few drops of Mr Clean. A few hours in a real marinade and they are fine............. however........... some years ago I happen to take a spruce hen who's crop was chock full of - Blueberries! Instead of the usual red meat I expectsed - it had white/bluish meat - and WOW did that bird taste awesome! It's the scavengers you do not want to eat - seagulls, fox, coyote, wolf, bear, hawks, etc that eat long, long dead things. The birds that eat bugs (usually a sweet tasting and crunchy protien packets) and grass shoots - ducks, geese, cranes, uplond game birds - will be the tasty ones.
- Q: I'm supposed to be critiquing an article for a class of mine.. and I don't feel like I understand the concept enough to critique his use of it... (It's an article about The Red Badge of Courage... the author talks about how the observing narrator Stephen Crane creates in the novel uses patterned reality without ambiguity... he's describing one of the scenes in which the dead soliders are somewhat personified.. describing them in terms of the living...... erm anyone take a class on realism? your help is greatly appreciated

- Q: I'm confused about one of the final scenes, where Seneca Crane is locked in the room with the nightlock berries. Does this mean that he is supposed to eat the berries and presumably die? Or is it symbolism of some sort of distaste in the way he ended the Games?
- Yeah, basically President Snow has him killed. The berries represent this. The whole point is he goes into the room, sees the berries and knows he is being killed for allowing Katniss and Peeta to use those berries to cheat the system.
- Q: have you noticed that there has been an exceptionaly high volume of cranes falling over in the U.S.A. this year? 2 cranes went down this week, one in Texas killing a man. seems like there has alot of this lately, what the hell is going on with the cranes? ever night i turn on the news its like a deadly crane accident took place today . thanks.

- Q: how does a crane operator's knowledge of where the centroid is generally located for most uniform objects help them perform their job more safely?
- If an object is uniform, it's a fair bet the centre of mass will be at the centre of the shape. If lifting with slings, he will have them placed equidistant from centre, at an angle to each other not exceeding 60 degrees. He will then lift a little, and can tell by the angles from vertical of each sling whether or not the CM is under the centre of the crane cable. If not, he will lower the load, and have someone adjust the sling positions. Having slings equally loaded ensures a level load when lifting, and when a load is level it is a much safer lift than when it tilts one way or the other. A tilt would mean greater force in the sling on the low end. The load could slip out, or the excess force could break the sling.
- Q: I was watching house m.d. When I notice house walking with a crane I asked a friend who knows house and has seen it but dosent remember why and how. why is he?
- It's a cane not a crane. Whew! To summarize, what happened to House's leg was that there was muscle death of the leg. He should have had it amputated, but he didn't. Instead, he wound up with a nearly useless, and chronically painful leg. Stacy, as a participant in this demise, well, I guess the relationship was all downhill from there. House realizes it was all his fault. If he would have just got the amputation, he wouldn't have screwed it all up Stacy is his ex-wife.
- Q: tnx for answering :)
- A girl named Sadako heard about a tale that tells if you folded a thousand paper cranes, you get one wish.
- Q: A heavy concrete panel is being lifted into position in a building by means of a crane (see figure below). The tension of 1.78 x 10^4 N in the supporting cable produces a torque with respect to point O. (Let L = 46.3 m.)
- The crane contributes a torque of 495,979.8 Newton-meters. 1.78e+4 * 46.3 * cos(53.0) = 495,979.8 ...but this is not the total (net) torque. There is also a torque due to the weight of the concrete slab - torque we are ignoring since we do not know the weight of the slab.
- Q: I can't find anything about this online, and I've never heard of it before.... I'm looking nearby for a Karate club to join, and came across this.I've heard of white crane kung fu, but not karate...

Having achieved wado i will propose it. the only white crane i've got achieved is a kung fu gadget from fujian province that's frequently hand innovations and open hand blocks with some low point kicking. i stumbled on wado greater assorted with a reliable grading gadget that's regarded globally.
