- There are two cranes, one lifts the other and construction workers build a scaffold under it. Then the higher crane lifts the lower one and the workers buiold a scaffold under it, this continues until they are as high as they need to be.

- but never have I seen a set of tracks or elevator used...not to say that it isn't possible but I have only worked big buildings in NYC...maybe things are done differently elsewhere in the world

- yes it is , because when we Design a part usually we will ad safty factor 1.5 or more from the maximum weght is able.
- Q: I've been wondering and haven't been able to find any information on it. Where does the sky crane go after it drops off Curiosity? You see it fly off in all of the videos, but no information is given on where it goes? Does anyone know?
- On this mission it simply flew off to one side then fell to the surface of Mars. In future missions they may allow the skycrane to gently touch down and use it as a base station. This mission it was achievement enough just to get the rover down safely. Cheers!

- Not answerable as you do not indicate in what area you are considering, weight, wingspan, height? Even in weight it is controversial. The mute swan and Andean Condor weigh in at around 30 pounds. In height it would be the Crane. And wingspan would be the Albatross.
