- Q:We are redecorating our bathroom. We are on a very limited budget. We can‘t afford to rip out the old tiles and put in new, so we‘re wondering if there is something we can do to make them look new and/or different. Such as painting them? That was my idea, but not sure that tiles can be painted? Can they? And if so how? What exact steps do we need to do to paint the tiles? Or any other ideas on making them look better? Thanks in advance.
- I've used several off the shelve tile cleaners and many of them work wonderfully. However, if you have ugly tile, not just dirtly tile, then a cleaner is not going to do the trick. Painting tiles is a very short term solution. Paint will not last long on a tile surface. When it starts coming off you're likely to have something that's even worse. The cost of replacing the tiles yourself will be very low, ultimately depending on the surface underneath the tile and your choice of tile. I've done it a few times in my own house and have found that good looking tile floors are one of the easier do-it-yourself jobs. It seems a lot more difficult than it turns out to be. The cost of a book, one day rental of a tile cutting saw, tile of your choice, and other supplies should only run you about $100 to $200 and yet the results will be truly remarkable. I'd count on a good three days if this is your first tile job. This sounds like a lot of time, but you'll only have problems if you're in a hurry -- so don't rush it.

ALSO, IS THE TROWEL SIZE CORRECT?P.S. WHY DO SOME TILES HAVE A WAFFLED BACK AND SOME A PRACTICALLY FLAT BACK? THANKS!
- you must change your space for your kitchen space first
- Q:→ tile background wall is good tiles background wall renderings
- 4, easy to return to the tide: in many parts of China, especially the southeast coast and the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River is particularly serious, but also has a certain radiation. You can try the cloud era of integrated walls, green building materials as the source and design energy-saving materials, and access to a number of national honor. "Integrated wall" is a decoration material, its advantages relative to the market in other wall treatment materials are significantly different, the service life is also higher than other wall materials.
- Q:Does any one know of a website or place Greenville, NC that would sell cheap bathroom tiles? We are rebuilding our bathroom and Lowe‘s and Home Depot both have outrageous prices? Thanks in advance!
- Why don't you go to Wal-mart, Target, The Home Goods store, Salvation army(visit one in a very good area of town). You can also go to a discount store that sale a variety of merchandise such as Dollar Tree, Family Dollar, and Big Lots to name a few. Good luck!
- Q:hi i started a tile job yesterday. i was supposed to pull up the old linoleum tile and put new linoleum yile. the only problem was that the ols tile had been put over older tile without being pulled up. so i chipped away a little at a time and it just seemed like it took a long long time. i have blisters all over my right fingers and hand. i still have a big patch to finish tonight, and if anyone knows how to get this stuff up faster please let me know, thank you
- try a small torch,we used it to get tiles warm it seems to melt glue some. Just be careful gets hot fast.
- Q:Earlier I asked, How to find a good tile? This is what I meant
- Anything that is real ceramic tile is good. Think about texture, cleaning and what the room is used for when choosing. It usually runs from $1 to $8 a square foot depending on which you choose. If you are planning to do it yourself you will need the proper tools such as a tile cutter, grout, and a base flooring etc. This will cost you up to $300 for everything but would save lots of money on labor etc. Don't buy the cheapest tile cutter! This is one of those things that you get what you pay for. Hope this helps.
- Q:on this link.. uld someone please tell me what color glass tile is on the first and the second photos of the bathrooms?the top bathroom looks more like a pink base and the second bathroom has the dark gray tiles and the purple walls. also, what kind of walls are these? it looks different than just regular paint. i need a link to the tiles that both of these bathrooms have. i think the first one is more of a pink base and the second is more of a silver base.
- 3d glass mosaic tiles.. The lighting is crucial for these tiles to shine appropriately.. I'm guessing that it'll be about $100-$200 per sheet for these type of tiles ! Lowes has some pillow tiles that give off that type of light for $195 a sheet.. The walls might be some sort of painting effect.. Like dry brushing .. Very pretty intersting but, could be REALLY expensive to try and pull off... If you like the look try a simple solutions pick a few things to mimic/faux spend some money on the WOW factor... Good Luck
- Q:How do you use tiles? I‘m sure it‘s easy, but I don‘t know how to use them yet. They look pretty complex. Thanks. I appreciate it.
- it isn't really as easy as you'd think. 1. create a background 2.make sure to check the box labeled Use as tile set 3.open up the room you want the tiles to appear in 4.there should be some tabs below the upper left corner 5.click on Tiles 6.under the big gray blank space(wich is just below the tabs) there should be a place to select the tile you want to use 7.after selecting the tile the gray empty space should show the tile. 8.click in the room on the spot you want the tile. remember, tiles are basicly drawings. so objects sometimes go over or under them. experiment with the layers to solve this :)
