Q:Sears just had a sale on vacuum cleaners and I got their progressive upright model 35923 with the quot;intelicleansystem. This is the one highly rated by Consumer Reports.I used it for a few days, and it seemed okay, except the inteliclean system would start acting weird after about 30 minutes of use. It would slip into the highest-power mode and get quot;stuckthere. Even on areas that it previously went over and sensed as clean. I could temporarlily fix it by switching out of carpet mode, then back in, but after a while it would get stuck again.Swapped it for another one, and the sales associate tells me to NOT USE the inteliclean system the first few times I vacuum. When I ask why, she says quot;I don't know what the reason is, we're just supposed to tell the customers thatquot;. Sounds pretty strange to me. There's nothing in the manual about it.Has anyone else gotten this advice from Sears regarding their inteliclean equipped vac? If so, what's the reason for it?
Haven't okorder and see what you can find.....everyone reviews everything there....
Q:My husband has really long, really strong hair. We've killed quite a few vacuum cleaners with his hair (the hair wraps around the spinny thing and inevitably breaks the motor). Because of this, I'm assuming I can't get that kind of vacuum cleaner: stand up vacuum with the spinning brush. What type and/or brand of vacuum should I get?
You can have the kind of vacuum cleaner with a spinning brush, which is the kind that works best for cleaning carpets. You just have to look after it and since you know that long hair is a problem then clean it out of the vacuum cleaner once in a while. A canister vacuum that gives you a choice between using the spinning brush or using a floor brush only might be a good choice. However, if you vacuum a carpet with just a floor brush it doesn't work that well and it doesn't matter how powerful the vacuum is. The beating action of that spinning brush is what knocks dirt out of the carpet so it can be vacuumed up. A floor brush probably won't even pick up all the hair and it definitely won't get all the dust out of the carpet. This isn't about how the machine performs. This is about you not giving the machine the maintenance it needs for the conditions it's being used in.
Q:We need a really quiet vacuum cleaner that can be operated while meetings are going on. Any suggestions
The quietest one I know is a Ghibli. I have one. If you're standing beside it, you can talk to someone in a normal voice. Mine doesn't have a beater bar which is the noisiest part of a vacuum cleaner but has lots of suction and does a very good job on carpets without it. Go to a vacuum specialty store and see what they have. I understand that Miele is very quiet too. When you're checking out vacuum cleaners, note that most of them give a decibel rating in the specs
Q:I have tried duct tape, bounce sheets, rubber gloves, lint rollers and vacuum cleaners. The only thing that has worked is picking out the hairs one by one. We recently moved and the owners gave us a game chair and its like the pet hair is embedded into the cover. (Its just the cover.) I'm afraid to wash it in fear of the hair transferring to the washer and dryer (prior experience) and the clips on the cover may tear it up.
I found good links, sites and advice on all pets.We have a pet rat and they had alot of good sites
Q:How have machines been harmful AND helpful to our society?
beats me
Q:The motor turns ok, and my husband couldn't find where the hose was clogged.. we just can't get any suction. It is a Dirt Devil. Upright. Approx 7-8 yrs old.
If the bag is full they will not suck dirt try enptying the bag
Q:Where can i find the vacuum cleaners listed in the consumer reports?
If you go online to Consumer Reports you can access their archive files for a fee. However, you can get the info free if you go to your local library and ask the reference desk for that report.
Q:what is green light for on heritage II vacuum cleaners?
your unit is full?
Q:i am trying to decide which toddler vacuum cleaner to get my daughter for christmas. i've been reading reviews and still can't decide. we have a dyson which we *love* but the childs dyson has the worst reviews of all, it seems. does anyone have the kids dyson, hoover, dirt devil... or any of the other ones? i really just want the one that actually works the best. we have 4 dogs and my 2 y/o actually will go around with our handheld and go straight for dog hair to 'clean up.' i'd like to get her up off her knees and be able to do the 'push and pull' with a real vacuum like mommy and daddy do since that's what she really wants... plus using the dustbuster has her hands closer to the brushes than i'd like.
none of them really work! I think you looking for a reall one. If you go to Target, they have great DirtDevil's and Eurekas that work like a real upright (they are) and don't need bagS
Q:I have two carpet cleaners and wish to utilize both. It is easier to keep both extraction tanks separate as they are than to combine them somehow. I might go ahead and run them in series, but I'd like some ideas. Thanks
What? Your question makes no sense. If you have a carpet cleaner you just clean the carpet and that's that. I can't figure out what else you are trying to do.
