Q: has black wires.
Two black wires in the box would be a hot from the supply and a switched hot to the load. If the timer has only two wires then it should be pretty easy to just connect them. If they are marked line and load then you would have to hook the wire for line to the wire in the box that is always hot from the supply and the other to the wire marked load. If you are still unsure then it really is not a job for you alone, enlist the help of someone with a bit more experience or even an electrician.
Q: Wire diagram
Hello there George, It has become common over the past few years that non-residential boilers are wired with EPO (emergency, power off) switches just outside each door to the boiler room. This is similar to having fire alarm pull boxes by the exits. I do not know of any jurisdiction that requires it for a residence. On occassion I've seen the 24 volt circuit for the thermostat being switched, which is a bit sketchy. Normally the 120 volt circuit for the controller is switched. The switches used are of the pushbutton type.
Q: i want to rewire my trailer harness on my truck. i have a 6 wire roung plug but i wat a 7 wire plug. what is the 7 wires for?
Don't know where the hell you got a SIX wire plug from? Standard plugs are usually 5 or 7 pin. However, to answer your question, providing that you use the same color codes as we do, yellow is for the left turn signal, green the right. White is the earth, red for brake lights, brown for tail lights, and black for reversing lights (if fitted). That leaves the blue one as a spare which can be used to power an interior/ exterior work light on the trailer. In Australia and NZ we only have the 5 or 7 pin plugs. They are made by either HELLA or NARVA and each companies male/female plugs are compatible with each other. Google either company and see what is available. Hope this helps. P.S. For the cost of a return airfare and cigarettes, I am willing to come over and wire your truck and trailer for you AND I'll bring a set of plugs for free.
Q: You have a 3 foot wide wire, vs a .3 inch wire. They are equal length. There is 3 volts going through each wire, to power your 1 volt LED. So, would the 3 foot wide wire have less resistance ? I don't even think it would work.
Increasing the diameter of a wire while maintaining a constant density is equivalent to connecting another wire in parallel with the present wire. Each wire contains a certain end to end resistance. The total equivalent end to end resistance of two wire resistors connected in parallel is always less than resistance value of the wire with the smallest end to end resistance. Another way to look at it. The larger the wire the greater the cross sectional area. The greater the cross sectional area of a wire the greater the number of parallel paths the current can take. The more parallel current paths available from one end of a wire to the other the less the overall resistance of the wire will be. You stated There is 3 Volts going through each wire, to power your 1 Volt LED. If this is true then you must have a resistor of roughly 100 Ohms that is dropping 2 Volts connected between the 3 Volt source and the 1 Volt LED. Either the 3' wide wire or the .3 wire would work fine in this application. The .3 wire would be a tad less cumbersome than the 3` wire I might add. Response to additional details: Conductance is the reciprocal of resistance and is independent of the applied Voltage. More length of a given wire would mean more resistance. More cross sectional area of a given wire means less resistance. Any wire has resistance but the conductor wire resistance itself in an LED circuit is of no consequence I believe.
Q: I'm splicing four pieces of 14-2 gauge copper wire to an 16 gauge electrical cord. The copper wire doesn't have any covering on it. Is it okay to connect the grounds, then attach it to my keyless lampholder? Or is something bad going to happen then?
I'm not sure I understand what you are doing but to answer your question yes you can leave the ground wire bare. A 16 gauge cord is pretty light to be tying 4 other wires into. Is this going to feed the 4 wires?
Q: Hello,I'm trying to replace my old ceiling fan with a new one but i can't seem to figure out the wiring.I have three wires coming out of the ceiling: 1) Two white ones that were connected together when the old ceiling fan was installed2) A grey wireI have four wires in the new fan:1) Black2) Black and White (would connect with the black based on the instructions)3) Green Grounding4) WhiteCan you help me figure out the connections. Thanks!
the two connected means a continous circut. Means it goes to something else. Tie the two blacks, from the fan with the grey. Your fan must have a light. And the white to the white. Your just compleating the circut. Cant really mess it up. green is ground ofc
Q: What are those strange ball-like things that are on some electric/telephone wires? I think they're on electric wires. I've always wondered.
they are there so you can see the wires better.... that way planes helicopters etc. dont run into them
Q: I always see birds hang on the wires but never get fried how do they do. It?
Because electricity won't pass through them unless they're grounded to something else. A human can do the same to a live wire as long as they aren't connected to something else the electricity can travel to.
Q: Ok You know the speaker wires that go to the back of the subwoofer? The metal part that comes out of the wire came out of the wire, and it makes a funny sound or no sound at all. How can I fix this? Also, I cut the wire and put the copper wires into the subwoofer, it works so so, any sugestions? lew
If it's a RCA type jack, just buy a new cable. Your method would normally work, but you really need a good solid connection. You can get a RCA cable crimper, which would allow you to attach a new RCA jack to the cable...but the kit will cost you as much as a new cable. Personally, I'd just buy a new cable.
Q: i would like to hook up a cd player in my dakota but i need a wire color diagram, anyboby no where or no the colors
