- Q: What value does Voltage indicate for vacuum suction?
- You need to explain this better, it makes no sense as it is. edit: no way to know exactly. Voltage alone tells you nothing. But the power used (in watts) could be a guide, if you have that number, in watts. 1400 mA-hour is a measure of the charge stored in the battery, so that is no help, as you need a time number to convert that to mA, which, with the voltage, can give you power in watts. My experience is that hand held vacuum cleaners are all very feeble.

- I work in a vacuum repair/sales shop and I have a few suggestions... first, in my opinion, if pet hair carpet 'fur' is am issuse, do no go bagless. The filters tend to clog up and the suction then drops off. As for the claims of brands that they do not clog, I would need to see it to believe it. 60% of all repairs I do are clogs in one form or another. the biggest problem with the Dysan is that the parts are very hard to get. therefore, expensive to fix. Dirt Devil makes a good machine, but for my mone, Panasonic is the way to go. I personally own two. Your other choice is a canister vac. They are a little more money, but are easier to move around.

- Q: don't say the noise, because i remember one occasion i was in my friends house and the dog started chasing me.so i ran round the table and reached for the vacuum (which wasn't on) and it immediately started to back off. now before you say something like it knows the noise....this Dog was a huge puppy.so i doubt MEMORY would have been great.
- A dog's short-term memory may be crap, but their long-term memory is not. Important things are committed to long-term memory, things like repetitive habits (training, etc) and traumatic or particularly frightening or exciting experiences, like their first encounter with the vacuum cleaner. It is, in fact, the noise that bothers them. They are loud and have no respect for the dog's boundaries :P
- Q: Hello! I was wondering if Vacuum cleaners get rid of germs. I mean, when I think about it, doesn't it probably suck all the germs up? Perhaps it may not kill germs, but it at least gets rid of them on a particular surface(like the carpet.)And if they don't get rid of germs, than how can I get rid of germs on the carpet? I know that Steam Cleaning and shampooing the carpet are good measures, but I don't want to do that on like a weekly basis. I am looking for something that can get rid of germs at least once a week.
- clorox came out with a product recently that is like their hard surface sanitizer but for fabrics. I like it and use it probably once a week on everything ( mattress, carpets, etc) It does however say that over time it may lead to fading of dark fabrics so beware.
- Q: My dog sheds year round, but even more so in the summertime. I've gone through several vacuum cleaners that work at first, then stop altogether. I dismantle the hose and clean out the hairs if they clog but I can't get adequate. What could be wrong? Can you recommend a vac that really picks up pet hair effectively?
