Aside from your typical coffee table book styling, my book would go deeper into the actual function of vacuum cleaners. Sort of an investigative attempt to dispel myth from fact, or hype from reality. quot;BORING G G...quot;, you might say. Well maybe, but have you ever picked up a book that captured your attention simply because it was done well. Then later you found yourself flipping back in your mind about some detail you recalled from that book? Hey, everyone cleans their floor right? My desire to write an in depth book about vacuum cleaners might be well accepted. Who knows? If you have any suggestions or ideas that might help me with my outline for the book please let me know.

- Q: Can a canister vacuum cleaner hepa filter be washed?
- I have been servicing and repairing vacuum cleaners for about 10 years now so I see a lot of filters. In my opinion even the filters that can be washed really shouldn't be unless they are a foam type material. Basically the washing doesn't really get the dirt out, what you have to consider is that the pores of the filter are super small to be able to trap particles as small as pollen and smoke and water doesn't flow well through holes this small. Also as the vacuum is running it is actually trying to pull air through the filter so the dust gets pulled in really hard and effectively gets stuck. Your vacuum will last longer by replacing the filter as it will cool the motor more effectively so while there is a cost in buying a new filter it extends the life of your vacuum hence saving you money in the long term. - I have cleaned houses and offices for over 20 years and I have used every vacuum cleaner on the market. I think hoover is a good brand and eureka. The one that I use for cleaning offices and I have one in my home is a Simplicity. We have a local vacuum sweeper business that sales this brand. It is light weight and it has attachments on the sweeper and are handy to get too. Also it has a good filtering system too.
- Q: Currently I have an Electrolux 2 in 1 Pronto but I am not satisfied with this vacuum cleaner because I have to leave it plugged in for hours to charge and recently it has not been picking up the dirt very well.. I use it to clean a linoleum floor. Can anyone suggest a good vacuum cleaner for a linoleum floor that does not have to be plugged in? Thanks.
- I have a Dyson vacumn cleaner..I always had such problems with all my vacumn cleaners until I bought this Dyson...I had to buy one about every 2 yrs..for some reason or another...I got so tired of it one day ,I went and splurged on this one...I have it over 4 yrs now and NO problems ever...I don't need to replace bags or filters....The cord is extra long...It is very strong,,(In fact the first time I used it ,,I knocked it down my cellar steps and I thought it broke on the concrete..I did come apart, but I put it back together ,no problem...I talked my sister into getting one...We both swear by them... It was well worth the extra money.. Good luck.
