I have tried a bunch of different vacuums but haven't found the best one. I would like an bagless upright vacuum, but if one is outstanding I don't think I'd be opposed to look at it at this point!: Bissell. Any Bissell vacuum will work perfect for dog owners.

I have one of the newest model of Rainbow vacuum cleaners and it has an option to be used as an air cleaner. It uses water to trap dust,lint,pet hair etc. The vacuum itself is phenomenal. I love it. I can use this thing in any room on any floor surface. I just dump the water outside and don't have to mess with dusty bags or filters. I've been using this machine for a few months now and people tell me they can definitely tell a difference in the quality of the air in my home. You would not believe the junk that this vacuum pulled from my carpet. A good thing to have in your home is house plants. These also clean the air.

Q: I have waited a year or so to finally get my hands on a hand vacuum cleaner because my mom said we needed to get a good one. Well she finally bought one, but she only bought it because it was ON SALE. I don't know much about hand vacuum cleaners, except this one SUCKS.It's by Sunbeam and it's called quot;Star Elite.It doesn't have a lot of power, only has a small opening to collect dirt etc (1quot;x 1cm) and is horrible at picking up stray pieces of hair. It only also works for 15 minutes and then it has to be charged for 15 hours.The main problem out of all that I have is the lack of power and horribly ability to pick up stray hair off the ground.Does anyone know a hand vacuum cleaner that is certainly better than this?: Hand okorder /

Q: Or would 2 vacuum cleaners produce the same volume of noise as just 1 vacuum cleaner? but just more consistently? ie. the same volume of noise, but just more of it. Assume the vacuum cleaners are of equal distance and they are the same model.Some analogy could be made when you touch one hotplate with one hand and another hotplate with the other hand. Touching the second hotplate doesn't mean that you are receiving heat that is twice as hot, you would just be receiving twice the amount of heat.Or is noise more like light, where two light bulbs do equal more light.: no it wont be twice as loud. noise is rated by decibles and every time the noise is doubled, the decible reading goes up 1 decible

Q: I own a Dyson and although it is great for picking up pet hair, at almost every other level it is an appalling contraption, cannot overide rugs, will not pick up small bits preferring to push them around the room. The hose ,oh! that bloody hose arrangement, must have been designed to drive us bonkers and why do they have to have that horrendous appearance?: Interesting I've been seeing the Dyson ads on t.v. a lot lately. I don't have either one, but have been wondering how the Dyson stacked up, against the Oreck. Either way, I'd need a lot of persuading to pay between $400 and 500 for any vacuum cleaner lol. For information, the happiest vacs I have ever had have always been the Eureka. I'm something of a vacuum nut, and have 9 different vacs of different sizes and types for different specific uses. But my vacuum for all seasons is my beloved 12 amp upright, wind- tunnel type Eureka - The Boss Your use of bloody makes me think you might be in UK, and this vac might not be available over there. I'm just mentioning it, though, in case I am wrong and you're in the States, because my Bossy aka the yellow peril is absolutely the best vac I've ever had. It goes quickly to the different levels between plain floor to high pile carpeting and its suction is very good, although its cannister does need to be emptied frequently. I paid slightly less than 80 bucks for it at WalMart LOL. Value for performance, Bossy has my vote over anything I ever owned, and I've owned plenty over time in my quest for the best sucker lol.-combined with ease of use and unbeatable price.

Q: I have a 1,200 square foot house and a dog that sheds a lot. I used the Swivel Sweeper 360 G2, and it sucks! I used it on rugs and my hardwood floors. I have hardwood floors throughout my house and some rugs in some of the rooms. I know attachments would help for the small areas like under the desks and TV stand. I need to find a good vacuum to buy and use for my house. I have no ides what is the best for my needs, there are so many to choose from. Please any advice would be very helpful!!!: My floors are similar to yours. I bought a Dyson when I have carpet in all rooms and now that I in the living area, carpets in the bedrooms and some mats the Dyson still does an excellent job.wood. One trick I use on the wood floors is something my g'mother and mother did. They lived in duty parts of the country and vacuum cleaners were very basic. They would soak a large rag/towel with kerosene, roll it up and leave it for a few days to let the kerosene soak in well. They then would sweep the floors with ths cloth under the broom. Kerosene is slightly oily and the cloth held onto the dust. I do the same thing but use a floor mop instead of a rag prior to vacuuming. I am able to get into corners and dust the skirting boards at the same time.

Q: Do they actually increase the amount of suction or are they simply a marketing ploy we have all fallen victim to?: The vortex spins the air at a high speed and the dirt is removed by centripetal force, that is why there are no bags.

Q: for the cordless onesTHanks!:): Old vac's like the BD Dustbuster (which I have) use Nickel Cadmium cells. Not sure about new models but NiCd's are cheaper than newer alternative NiMH (Nickel Metal Hydride).
