Q: I lost my older cookbook and the newer ones, since the 50s doesn't have the recipe.
Yes, I do. If it's the recipe that's in the chicken section, it's great. It's like the one above but this one has additional ingredients like br sugar lemon juice. After browning the chicken in salad oil, remove the chicken and add to the oil: 2 medium onions in 1/4 inch slices 1/2 cup chopped celery. Cook till tender. Add 1 cup catsup, 1 cup water, 1/4 cup lemon juice, 2 to 3 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce and 2 Tbsp each brown sugar, vinegar prepared mustard. Season. Simmer 10 minutes; skim off excess fat.
Q: I was thinking about these: mulberry, apple, peach, cherry, or plum.Any suggestions? Also be specific don't just say apple please say what type.Thank you in advance :D
Your question leaves a lot to be desired. Your choice of trees will depend upon why you want to grow a tree in your garden. I'm looking at doing the same thing, but my reasons will dictate what type of tree. I'm looking for something that will provide shade, grow at a medium pace, and not establish too many roots, especially roots that will grow close to the surface of the soil. I want to continue to grow vegetables, but I have limited space, with paved walkways, so I want to make sure the roots don't up heave the walkway. Fruit trees would be nice, but they can be messy with the leaf drop, etc. I don't want a tree that grows into a large tree, but one that primarily provides shade (since I live in SC). I'm trying to provide some shade to my vegetables, because the heat is sometimes too much for my plants. I've decided to go with a crepe myrtle, because it will provide color, and isn't too difficult to maintain. I would suggest you further evaluate your sistuation before deciding what type of tree is best for you. good luck
Q: Other opinions welcome too. When I add feminist in the question it automatically goes to the place.I cannot be bothered with the extra steps.
I'm intrigued by you're interested in feminist views on this? :) I am a feminist and was home schooled. My parents taught me and my four sisters in our own home/garden in nice weather and we received tailored, intimate tutoring. Home education isn't suitable for everyone but my sisters and I have all gone on to do extremely well both academically, socially and career-wise. I think the benefits of being taught at home range from one-to-one tutoring in a relaxed atmosphere to the absence of bullying and peer pressure. Many people worry that home schooled children miss out socially, but if they attend social meetings outside of home lessons then this isn't an issue. I went to ballet lessons, drama lessons, swimming lessons, pottery-making lessons, youth clubs... Anything that caught my or my parents' eye, and I also spent time playing outside with children in my area. When it comes to doing formal tests it is easy to get correspondence courses from local or national colleges and sit exams in local schools. My sisters and I all did our GCSEs at home then went to further education colleges for A levels before university. Apologies if you're from the US and not familiar with these terms! Hope I've helped you. :)
Q: I stopped to listen to a garden speaker at our County Fair last week. I was late didn't hear all he had to say, but he brought up the gardener's quot;Biblequot; several times. I over heard someone at the nursery say something about it too, more then once, but never paid attention before. All I know is it is suspost to be the best book on gardening. A must have for every serious gardener. I've checked at several book stores without luck. My neighbor told me that is not the right name, only the name everyone refers to it. But she didn't know the real name either. Does any one know the real name? I have got to have one. Thank You!
THE MASTER GARDENER BIBLE was at one time SUNSET WESTERN GARDEN BOOK. We carried one with us at all times. But times change the MASTER GARDENERS have written a NEW TESTAMENT of their own. I wouldn't say it is a replacement to the Sunset book any more them The New Testament of the Bible replaces the Old Testament. But THE MASTER GARDENER HAND BOOK was writen by MASTER GARDENERS for MASTER GARDENERS with input from all the top plant experts from the Univ system, State County Ag experts. It's more of a hands on, how to book. Where Sunset highlights plants to I.D., the MASTER GARDENER HAND BOOK assumes you have made your plant choices takes it from there. Pound for pound, I'd say the Master Gardeners book weights more. Covers in detail the stuff Sunset just touched on. I think they belong together just like the Old New Testament of the Bible. You just can't have one without the other. The Master Gardener book covers it all in detail, soil conditions, IPM in detail etc. Anything that could mess up a gardeners' day in the garden, the Master Gardeners' book has it covered. Problem being you won't find it in your local book store. It's a univ publication in univ books stores or by order from your local coop extension or Master Gardener sight. If both were put infront of a gardener could only have one, it would be a tuffy. But for more hands on what to do and why, i'd have to choose the book writen by the Master Gardeners.
Q: I'm moving into a new home soon with a lot of painting projects and I seem to be stuck on the home office. I'm a fan of Feng Shui and believe that certain colors and elements should be incorporated in every room by reason. I'm not a big fan of clutter and like to keep things minimal and clean. Since it is going to be a home office, I'd like to stray away from heavy colors that can make you feel relaxed or sleepy. Can someone give me some ideas on what colors and elements you think I should incorporate in this room?
Try a magnolia it is a Natural color and works with most things. it will allow you to incorporate Other colors from wall art if you have some. and it helps to make a room look less cluttered, even when you have more in a room than you need. it is also easy to touch up if things go wrong.
Q: During the last week-two week period, these little creatures have appeared inside our home. Our guess to their arrival is they attached themselves in some way to my fathers work attire while he was building some facilities for produce, as we are not gardeners by any measure nor have anything in particular growing inside the home that would convince a significant # to enter our home.
I dont realize what to say but, long tresses is cute but you keep moving your hair up so you can easily see, short hair is cool and also you dont have to flick your current hair up at all
Q: Where can I find information about home gardening in the US?
lots of places, just put it in a web search
