- Q: What type of material is more suitable for the exterior wall finishes of a building such as shopping mall?
- Most exterior walls are not structural so the same glass walls can be used both inside and out as long as you can deal with the lost of the insulation value of a conventional wall. (They do insulate better than the typical plate glass wall but only slightly (assuming glass blocks). A properly designed glass wall can also be a supporting wall but it is uncommon. Mostly only the mortar and base sealing (they need a low foundation) is the difference between interior and exterior usage.
- Q: I need to hang a curtain rod in my kitchen to be able to hang curtains so that my neighbors will not be able to see inside. If i screw the rod into the wall, will it hols up? there is also wood trim around the window and i tried to drill the screws in it but my drill could not penetrate it. - Q: okay so i am living in this apartment and i am having trouble with my curtain hanging situation. I have concrete walls and i cant get the screw in the wall to hold a bracket. i looked a few things up and i just dont think double sided tape will hold them up. i need some help! - I love orangy shades....especially the peach and pale coral shades. I also really like chocolate colors, like mocha. However, I'm concerned that with curtains that you describe as orange, that chocolate will make it look like a Halloween room. What about having the walls either a vanilla/champagne shade combined with a pale peach sherbet shade. You could use accents of mocha or coffee or cocoa. The curtains will then be pretty if the rest of the room is a bit more muted. You could also accent with either pillows or lampshades or paintings (large ones because your room is big) to hang on the wall.

- I like to match curtains to wall color as closely as possible. This makes the walls appear seamless and gives the room a more open feel. So go with an off white curtain.
- Q: Ive been looking at Apartments and one has some real potential except for the fact that the living room has wood paneling on 3 of the walls. So one question is do you think I can put wall curtains on those three walls? Ive seen it done on one wall but never three. Is there any other option I can use to cover the wood paneling like wall paper or something? If not what can I possibly do to make this wood paneling presentable? - Are you renting or buying? I would think this makes a difference to what option you choose. Personally, I don't think curtains on 3 walls would look nice. If you did decide on this option you would have to use curtain rails and make sure the fixings go in to the wall 'behind' the panelling. Or with the weight of the curtains, they would just fall off, leaving holes behind. If you are renting, you would have to check that your Landlord was ok with you doing this. A better option would be to paint over all the panels. You can use any colour you like and apply with a roller. Preperation would be the key to a good finish. You would either have to give all the walls a light sand, or use liquid sand. Which is easy. You wipe on, wipe off, allow to dry and then paint over. If the panelling is completely flat, you could wallpaper over it. Using the correct adhesive. If you have 'grooves' in the panelling, then wallpaper won't work. You would have to cover the panelling in either plasterboard or sheets of plywood first. But again, any fixings would have to go into the wall behind. Is it an option to remove the panelling? Often, panelling has been put up to cover damaged walls. To hide a, 'multitude of sins'. So, you don't know what you might find underneath!!! And it depends how the panelling has been put up. Usually wooden battens are put on the wall first, to fix the panelling too. If it was me, I'd just paint over the whole lot! And maybe have a feature wallpaper on the 4th. wall.

- brown curtains might look nice and they'd also be room darkening! i'd also consider looking for patterned ones that incorporate two or more of the room colors! you should NOT do gold ones. maybe you wanna do red curtains and a brown valance? what color is the floor? maybe match that? cream or butter could be options also-hard to say since i am having trouble visualizing teh wall color exactly..... hope i was helpful!
